Environnement très agréable

L'horaire chez CAE est très amovible et s'adapte à la vie des employés. Il s'agit de ma meilleur expérience de travail.

Can be good, if you get a good mgr

Busy role but mgt isn't great. Don't expect growth & $$ isn't great, new hires will make more than loyal, hard workers. People are amazing for the most part.

L’entreprise possède de très belles valeurs qui se reflètent très bien dans la majorité des initiatives lancées. La culture d’entreprise est sincèrement super !! De plus, le travail hybride ainsi que d’autres éléments permettant un maximum de flexibilité aux employés y sont offerts.

Good place to learn good design principles. Work can be mundane at times.Advancement is slow and company is unstable since the pandemic, laying off 100s of permanent employees

I love aviation so I really enjoyed working at CAE.The work was always interesting and my work mates were beyond great. The only thing I didn't like was how many times my manager was changed over the seven years I worked there.

Good starter job, avoid for work/life balance.

Some jobs are super interesting and simulators in general are great technical challenges.However, the workload is super heavy, and teamwork sometimes suffer from that. Lots of overtime (paid for now, with rumours that it won't be paid later this year.), and be ready to travel with little (like a day) notice.While in theory the schedule is flexible, you'll still have to go to meetings early in the morning and in late afternoon, and will sometimes need to be available during weekends for site availabilities.Saying all that, you can see how that's difficult to have any kind of work life balance when you have kids and work here.

You will learn a lot, but you may not get recognition

A great company for learning. They delegate down to a low level; very new employees get real customer face time. The bad thing; if you're good in the trenches, they will leave you there. Lots of overtime and travel, which is great if you want it but they exert a lot of pressure when you don't want it.

Pitiful career management. Promotion is secret selection.

Unfair pay and lack of leadership

Most of the coworkers are helpful. Pay is extremely poor, especially considering the 3 week rotating shift work. Chances of advancement is nil. Family/ work life balance is awful; job is only suitable for single young graduates. Management has no clue about who does what, and show favoritism (some people are allowed extra days off paid on top of vacation, some people are allowed to bank time whereas most aren't). Once a couple of senior techs leave, the place might burn to the ground, because knowledge is hoarded and training does not exist/ non-pertinent to what you have to actually do. The company culture needs a drastic overhaul (FTNG galore).

Can be fun depending on who you work for

Co-workers are supportive but management is not good. Deadlines are very tight and you will be expected to perform miracles. The pay does not reflect the amount of work required and the amount of stress you have to endure. Skills you learn are not easily transferrable to other jobs because the product is unique and the company effectively has a monopoly.If you really like overtime and travelling a lot, this might be for you but I can't recommend for most people. Get what you need and get out asap.

J'ai beaucoup appris à CAE dans différents secteurs, où tout va très vite. On peut changer de poste ou cellule de production tout les 6 mois. L'ambiance de travail dans mon équipe était très agréable et l'entraide était très présente.Le point négatif est la sécurité du travail où des mises à pieds massif peuvent avoir lieu dans un contexte macro défavorable.

Very bad experience as contractual worker

Was hired as a contractor with promise to become permanent, had so limited access and work team were completely uncooperative...stay away from this company as everyone was checking their reputation and covering their tracks. Its always the contractual faults (see the picture!). Co-workers took credit for my work and makes you look bad as no progress is shown in the management books, management is either blind or careless. (maybe both)
