Better than most out here
Vac Truck Operator (Former Employee) - Alberta - 10 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Great company, was always working. Treated well here and paid my worth. Communication was better than I’ve seen for working on the rigs. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lots of travel, not that bad though What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Inclusive, decent than most. Recognition when deserved What is a typical day like for you at the company? Top up rig tanks or clean out shale bins. Transport of shale /debris to other areas

Runs like a family.
Vacuum Truck Operator (Current Employee) - Alberta - 21 September 2022
They are very understanding company. Big help with training and learning the system before they send you out to work. Unlike most companies out there. Great bunch of people to work with.

needs improvement
Water Truck Driver (Former Employee) - British Columbia - 14 June 2022
I spent a lot of my time and theirs getting certified to do the job required of me. Right from the day I started there I was did not receive the the training I was promised, then a few days into the new job I was told I had to remove myself from the worksite as there was one course not completed by me. The way I see it that was up to the staff involved in sending me off to camp and jobsite, after a couple weeks of courses I didn't know what was what anymore, sad that I quit after all the time and money spent on courses, it didn't have to go that way, I liked most people there hope they get it together in that office, as it didn't give me a lot of confidence to move forward in my career at Bulldog.
Pros
camp life, company truck to camp
Cons
lack of training and promises to fix problems

Long hours, away from home.
Vacuum Truck Operator (Former Employee) - Mannville, AB - 9 December 2021
You never know where your going until the last minute, sometimes had to wait for days. If you had a camp it was better because you didn't have to cook and add that time to your 12 hour day. Met workers that had to help because they weren't ready or trained enough on their unit to do the job properly. This line of work is not for a family man.
Pros
Good if you have a camp job.
Cons
Long hours, dirty and cold.

Excellent employer, with good pay and benefit progr
Truck Driver Class 3 (Former Employee) - Mannville, AB - 21 June 2019
Most jobs are 12 hr shifts days or nights whichever you prefer. Management is very accommodating as far ad personal life goes, very family orientated. I came to Bulldog with no oil field or truck driving experience, they were very willing to train new employees. They exemplify a company with a very positive workplace culture and are a equal opportunity employer. The hardest part of the job is working in all kinds of weather conditions, however it's left to the employee's disgression to decide if it's reasonable to refuse to work due to conditions. The best part of the job is the ability to take time off as needed, no questions asked.
Pros
Ability to take time off at anytime with giving reasonable notificstion
Cons
Being away from family

Jobs at Bulldog Energy Group
Truck Driver positionsGood Operational Management
Vacuum Truck Operator (Former Employee) - Mannville, AB - 28 August 2018
I have not worked at Bulldog for awhile but the operational managers like Darrel, Rich, and Kris were great to work for. The companies fortune is tied to the oil and gas sector and this has its ups and downs. Like a lot of service companies it has its good and bad, but for the most part was a pretty good company to work for. Be prepared to work some long shifts and doing some pretty demanding physical labor.
Pros
Free lodging if you are further away from home.
Cons
Oil and gas sector is pretty unforgiving.

Do not work here!
Vac/water truck (Former Employee) - Various - 27 July 2018
Do not work here, work anywhere else....they treat employees like there garbage. Trucks and trailers are hurting real bad. Beds in trailers are all stained and they won't change them. There are better companies out there that treat there employees good and pay much better.
Pros
Going home
Cons
Too many to list

Vac Truck Operator (Current Employee) - Nisku, Ab - 27 December 2017
Have been working with the Bulldog family for over 10 years and they have always kept me employed even through the slow turn-downs. Bulldog seems to always be aggressively searching out new customers keeping everyone working. GREAT PLACE TO WORK!
Pros
Competitive Wages & Job Security
Cons
Oilfield

Most Flexable Schedule I could Ask for
Vac Truck Operator (Current Employee) - Grande Prairie, AB - 30 October 2017
I have a family on the East Coast and I want to be around for my kids special events, they let me change my rotation and go home to my family when ever I need.
You pick your own rotation, as a family company they do not believe in forcing a rotation on you.
Added bonus is the company pays for full benefits, I have a family of 5 and that's a load of my wallet.
Typical oil patch life and stuff that surround it. Just don't take your problems to the field and affect your work and your golden.
There is always plenty of work and the company is willing to work with you. They helped me get my Class 1, 3 other places I worked for refused to help me out.
Bulldog is my extended family
Pros
Flexable rotations
Cons
Who likes the Mud

Productive and fun workplace to be
Employee/Truck (Current Employee) - Mannville, AB - 31 May 2014
my day starts of by going on the site that I have been assigned to and do the work that is required. I learned that everyday is something new on the worksite. My co-workers are very helpful, respectful. The hardest part of my job is getting things accomplished in a certain amount of time.
Pros
Opporunity to move up in the ladder, and learn new things
