Productive, fun, and inclusive work place
In store model (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON9 January 2019
Brandy Melville is an amazing part-time job for students and has pretty flexible hours and days to chose from. A typical day at work consisted of greeting costumers, cleaning up the storefront and change rooms, as well as putting all the clothing back.

Fun place to work as a part-time job
Sales (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON11 September 2018
You work with a bunch of teenagers (some are even as young as 15) and some young adults who are the supervisors who think they are all that. Despite this, it is a pretty fun environment. You really have to be as dumb as a rock to not be able to excel in this workplace. Although, some of the sales girls are hired based on their looks or their instagram following, you do end up working with some dumb people. However, their bad work habits catch up and then they either quit or get fired so the turnover is quite high.

Short 30 minute breaks

Nice job, friendly environment
Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Montréal, QC28 August 2018
Really nice place to work as a part-time student job. Managers able to keep it both friendly and professional. Staff cultural background is international which brings diversity and open-mindedness. It's a bit routine but managers organised staff members events and discussion groups to improve this. Keeping the store clean at all time can be tiring.
Pros
Reward for good work
Cons
No expenses for lunch and transport

Laid back job, get paid to do nothing
Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  Mississauga, ON3 August 2018
Brandy Melville is the place for anyone looking for a job which requires you to do little to nothing. No one is on top of you to communicate to customers, no one cares to do customer service, its a free for all. EXTREMELY easy money. Head office is intimidating... they walk into the store and do not introduce themselves to anybody, they act as though they run the location.

Spent two years at this establishment and was always treated with respect and kindness. Coworkers quickly became like a family to me. Criticism was always constructive and positive.

Easy going, nice co workers and manegment. Very flexible. Everyone is very nice and accepting. Hardest part of the job is dealing with customers about the one size policy. Other than that it is very pleasant working here.

Managed to always stay on top of tasks, as well as keeping fellow employees and customers my top priority.
Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Ontario8 June 2016
Brandy Melville was always a positive environment filled with great staff and people. It was always very enjoyable going to work because I love meeting new people (customers) and being able to help them find something they loved and to put a smile on their face. One of the more harder parts of the day was having to travel to work because it was a long commute. Overall, it was a great company and I learned a lot of managerial skills.
Pros
People new people every single day at work
Cons
Long commute time

Relaxed work environment, very boring at times
Sales Associate (Part-time) (Former Employee) –  North York, ON17 April 2015
Working here was really relaxed, there was barely any hard work required. Everyone was really nice to work with. A typical day would be folding, cleaning up after messy customers, and more folding. Management was unorganized, poor advancement opportunities if you're not popular amongst the group. The hardest part about this job is putting back merchandise after customers try them on, its quite difficult to find anything in the store since most things are folded and look the same. The most enjoyable part was that everyone is usually laid back, most people go for smoke breaks every hour or so.
Pros
frequent breaks if you smoke
Cons
hard to find anything in the store when cleaning

Relaxed environment, poor wage, and little creativity required
Visual Display Associate (Current Employee) –  Vancouver, BC28 March 2013
A great group of people to work with, but a visual merchandiser at Brandy Melville is not required to think outside the box very often, and not required to be overly creative or well-trained. I felt unstimulated as a visual associate, and found the selling culture to be unclear.
