If you want to throw away parts that were never put on a car, become a parts person. You can also try and order parts like ‘rear right wheel’ or glass. Avoid this company.

Was there for a contract, term position. Was able to take advantage of great training and orientation from a variety of managers & staff. Quickly brought up to speed on industry and the needs there of. Given clear goals and tasks to accomplish, being left to use my skills to achieve results. There was no opportunity for growth or future development as this was a contract, term position.

This company claims to be there for you but they only care about management you as the little people that do all the hard work , it does not mean anything. The pay sucks and you work very hard. Even if your open and honest about things they just brush it under the rug and praise their management if if management is terrible.

On going location manager changes, makes for unproductive shops. Once a location has a crew working well together, they change manager. Causing huge stress to the shop a loss of productivity. Problem is with regional management. A very dictatorship type of managing locations. New location managers have lack of management skills, this is due to nepotism within the hiring process along with other personal obligations that they hire by. Bringing a unskilled person in to manage a location does not help the company at all. Very detrimental to a company that could thrive with a better regional management team. Needs a more competent hiring process for managers and leave them at a location rather than always moving them. They need to build that team environment they are constantly pushing in morning meetings. Personally 6 managers and 2 locations during the short time I worked there. If you have another choice pick the other choice. With out changes only set up for failure.

This is one of the worst companies I have ever worked for. They make promises and don’t keep them They hold your job over your head They promote incompetent people because they kiss butt. They are extremely disorganized and are terrible at communication. The higher ups pick and choose who they hire and promote based on personal interests rather than best fit for the position. If you quit or they let you go they try to find any loophole not to pay you.

Probably worst job I have ever had. Regional manager only cares about his opinion. I recieved 0 training at all had to learn on my own. Was given the keys to the store and that was the extent of training. Lots of nepotism. Hiring relatives with no experience. Moves managers around store to store constantly. I have taken several management courses and this company goes against every thing I have been taught. Very poorly run. If you have a job keep it if you don't keep looking

Manager was racist. Not sure how they kept their job. No consequence for their comments. HR not accommodating or helpful. Must do other people's job to do yours.

Lots of Challenges to work on the job site and give clients to a ride their work or home / pick up when their vehicle are ready to go. The most enjoyable part of job. :) Also, when the staff cannot be able to go i.e. parts somewhere to pick up and brought to the shop either from Boyd shop to Boyd shop pick up any kinds of needs for shop either delivery drop them off.

Manager has an anger problem and loves to lash out on employees and even when he is in the wrong he will make you feel worthless.. Worked here for nearly 2 years and got to experience this mon - friday.

NEVER work at Boyd auto body they under pay the management sucks make you work twice as hard for 12.25 always rushing you to get the job done all they care about is making the company look good not the employees no one stays working in the detailing department it’s not worth the money they pay you can try it out you might like it but I didn’t

Terrible company to work for. They hire inexperienced managers who have no clue about Autobody, unorganized, cheap, and don’t care about the employees. Instead of giving raises to well deserved workers they will say they’re on a “wage freeze” and then they will hire a new person they don’t even need.

It was a pleasure working for the company, I really enjoyed the friendly environment of my co-workers and I would surely recommend anyone who starts out as a detailer that they can move from detailer to mechanic or painter.

There is a reason employees do not stay at Boyd. The work environment is toxic, the upper management is always on your case about doing a “better” job when they never provided any logical training from the start. General managers are over worked, stressed and never end up staying. All the employees with Boyd never have any good things to say, and that’s not a company I want to work for. Not being proud of where you work really blows. Managers need to treat their staff better, maybe give raises once and awhile instead of every 5 years, and quit treating their employees like numbers instead of genuine people.

Very poor training,changing staff around all the time,fast sudden changes with no conversion at all. Numbers is the name of the game here.including you !!! No sence of stability in your job at all.This is not a great place to work.

But they want decent quality, too. .... from dated equipment and tired employees. No raise in over the year I worked there. (Granted i don't pull the $ from the insurance company, but i can make someone shocked at what their car can look like, after the body and paint is done. ... it's a team effort! But, so much for that.)

They train new employees very poorly then blame you for not doing your job correctly while offering no help or guidance to correct the problems. Set you up to fail if they don't like you. Management will talk about your personal problems with other employees and does little to stop harassment in the shop. Very poor experience with them and do not reccomend them as an employer. Left a good job for this opportunity only to regret it. Don't waste your time and energy working for them. Toxic work environment.

bad place to work. all you get is pressure to produce work, even when there is no work in the shop all management does is panic and put pressure on the technicians, very uncomfortable and confusing environment to work in. shops are outdated as is their management style and practices

regional manager in Manitoba is a total control freak and has absolutely zero people skills or any understanding of the auto body repair process.. the assistant is even worse, thinks shes a manager coming around yelling at everyone for the smallest mistakes, it contributes nothing to helping or improving what problems are there. Its like a 3rd world country in their shops, very dirty, dusty, poorly lit, spray booth leaks paint into the shop , old outdated equipment, and just a ton of pressure and panic to produce. they will come and constantly tell you you aren't going fast enough or doing things wrong but offer no guidance or support to improve the situation because they dont know what they are doing or how to help. if you value yourself and take pride in what you do and actually want to take your career to the next level , do not work here. there are lots of options for the autobody industry, dont allow yourself to be treated badly by these people at boyd.
