Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIt is a great place to work here as a part-time job. You'll meet many friendly, supportive coworkers. But there is not much room for advancement at all.

La Vie en Rose sucks.
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Oshawa, ON - 19 September 2023
This was the worst job I've ever had. I stayed there for over 5 years and nothing changed regardless of the fact I had contacted HR many times due to poor management. I did meet some great people, but I had 4 managers in the time I was there and only 2 of them were decent and understanding. HR does not help you. They only care about how much you're selling. The environment is bad, and they make you feel as though you are replaceable. Maybe it's different at other stores, but working here in the Oshawa Centre was awful. It ruined my mental health and caused so much unnecessary anxiety.

Cons
De fois même pas de pause.

Unfair with the training session to each employees. Not much chances to grow and learn. Good for students who wants to spend their time and chatting.

Awful
Key Holder/Supervisor (Former Employee) - Halifax, NS - 31 August 2023
This was one of the worst places I've worked and I've had a few jobs. Management is manipulative, very "clicky" work environment. I felt like I wasn't welcome there and that they wanted me to leave but couldn't fire me so they basically bullied me into leaving. Wouldn't wish this job on my worst enemy.
Pros
None
Cons
Horrible management/work environment

Great for students
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Ottawa, ON - 15 August 2023
Super chill place to work at. When they give hours, its a great low impact job for students. Easy tasks, hard not to stay busy and super rewarding to help customers. Great discount as well.

50% off was nice could have been a fun place to work
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) - Barrie, ON - 7 August 2023
Manager at my location was chill and nice. It seemed like it could have been fun but the assistant manager makes it unbearable. Multiple people left because of her power tripping. I’d work for the company but at a different location. Hard to tell who to listen to because the manager and assistant manager say different things.
Pros
Discount
Cons
Management

Above average workplace - Great for students
Sales Associate (Current Employee) - Guelph, ON - 6 August 2023
LVER is a great place to work if you need schedule flexibility. You earn minimum wage plus commission and sales bonuses. 50% staff discount is great for gifts and your own purchases. You have to go into it with a positive attitude. Some tasks may feel mundane but are essential parts of the work you do. Can get stressful at times but I find that the LVER clientele is usually pleasant to work with and we don’t often get difficult customers.
Pros
50% discount, commission & bonuses, tuition assistance program.
Cons
Inconsistent schedule, minimum wage.

Great place to work. Coworkers are very friendly
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 2 August 2023

Pros
Best place to work. Management is great.

Amazing coworkers
Retail Sales Associate (Current Employee) - Ottawa, ON - 27 July 2023
The job itself is easy and enjoyable. Low-level management is great. Upper-level management is not good. There is no easy way to find a number for HR or payroll, should you have an issue. They will deduct 25$ from your pay if there's any issue depositing your paycheck. Payroll issues take about 3 weeks to resolve, so be prepared for delayed compensation. It's expected by the company that aggressive, rude, and volatile customers will still be served. They have an "open-door policy" but the only way to reach them is by a 1-800 number.
Pros
50% off merchandise, flexible hours
Cons
upper management, communication

Nice colleagues, No place for growth
Sales Associate (Current Employee) - Burnaby, BC - 15 July 2023
In the beginning, you will look at your zone sheet and what are the promotion and sales that have been written on the daily sheet and then you will go to your zone and help the customers. during the day, they may ask you to go for a garbage run and you have to cut all the boxes. Usually, you should clean the floor and replenish the items. Most of the time, they don't have enough associates for the customer so you have to cover a couple of customers at the same time. At the end of the day, you will walk through and either do the vacuuming or mopping. Once a month, you should wash the washroom and clean the back room.
Cons
No promotion and raises.

Worst place I have ever worked for . They fire any manager or employee without cause once they complete what the company desires. They have no morals and I would never recommend working for this company
Pros
Absolutely none
Cons
Bullying discrimination racism

Productive workplace environment
SALES SPECIALIST (Former Employee) - Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON - 6 June 2023
During summer/winter seasons it is very fast paced and busy. In the slower seasons work days feel very long, but organization/cleaning of the store can be done. Decent work environment.
Pros
Commission incentives

7 June 2023Hi, thank you for your comments. We appreciate your feedback.
Terrible Workplace Culture
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Kelowna, BC - 4 June 2023
A typical day at work lacks organization and a clear structure. The way tasks are carried out seems arbitrary and there is no established system in place. Unfortunately, the level of training provided is minimal, if not non-existent. Restocking and destocking procedures appear to be random, with no attention given to proper sizing within the store leading to inefficiencies and difficulties in locating items when needed. The most troubling aspect of this workplace is its culture. It is plagued by cliques and a shocking lack of professionalism among the employees, even in front of guests. This not only creates a toxic environment but also reflects poorly on the company as a whole. Adding to the tension, there is a competitive atmosphere driven by commission-based incentives. This continues to foster a mean-spirited attitude and further adds to the strained relationships between coworkers. It's disheartening to witness employees who have been there for years and should have been let go long ago, as they perpetuate the poor culture and negative attitude. Overall, these issues greatly affect the work environment and create a discouraging atmosphere for both employees and customers alike.
Pros
50% discount
Cons
Everything else
