Try your luck not a good place for everyone
Server/Bartender (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 21 November 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI only loved working there because of good coworkers, customers and good money.Mangers could treat you like you are just a piece from dollararama. Throw you out or attempt to throw you out without a notice wish my manager would have looked at me or ever tried to treat me even 20% of the way they treat their guests. The number of people leave this job quickly is more higher than people they hire. And no one would ever speak up about it. All the ex employees should have the best answers.
Pros
Good money
Cons
No work ethics in managers

Dont bother
server (Former Employee) - Langford, BC - 27 November 2023
Was hired after a laughable interview process. Worked three shifts in which I was never asked to fill out tax forms or give direct deposit info for payroll. on my last shift they moved me to serving and had me serve a 45 person party with little support from management, couldn’t even tip me out that night from that party. Then got an email next day saying i wasn’t a good fit. I think i was only brought on to help with that one big party…

Jobs at Boston Pizza
Great Team
Bartender/Server (Former Employee) - Regina, SK - 15 November 2023
I loved working at Boston Pizza East Regina. Management cares about you as a whole personally my favorite place I've worked. If there was ever something I needed to fix I was told in a constructive way. Great coworkers that always made it feel like a team environment and enjoyable to come into work. Management is willing to help you on the floor. If not for moving I would have definitely continued to work here!
Pros
The team you work with
Cons
later nights

Avoid this company at all costs.
Server/Bartender (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 6 November 2023
This place was HORRIBLE. Learned the ins and outs of this company, moved up the totem pole, and within 12 years I’ve earned a 1.50$ raise, I am not kidding. Management is is a joke, it’s basically 18 to 20 year olds who only work to collect a paycheque, don’t care to do any actual work, but enforce it. The workplace bullying is ridiculous on top of everything. This entire company needs a face lift. Good place to work to get experience in the industry, but I would highly advice to leave after you get enough experience.
Pros
Lifetime friendships
Cons
Management is terrible, no work life balance, poor wage

Fun but stress filled workplace
Kitchen Supervisor/Line Cook (Former Employee) - Hamilton, ON - 4 November 2023
A typical day at work, arrive at 5pm start dinner rush prep and cooking immediately as the rush continues we continue to prep and stock as we go as there is no other option. Around 8pm the dinner rush will slow down and give time to wash dishs restock and prep some more as well as delogate breaks to each kitchen staff member. Then around 9:30pm the late dinner rush will begin the get heavy and we are in a rush again. After dinner rushes have finished cutting staff is priority to make sense of the amount of order we are getting at that point to how much labour we are putting out. After cuts kitchen is restocked more prep happens and dishes until it's clean or orders start coming in.after last call in the bar the kitchen is closed therefore it's final restock and cleanup no more prep once floors are wet and dry mopped and grease has been scrubbed away dishes are clean and put away and everything is sealed and stored garbage is out it's time to leave.
Pros
Free meals when taking a shift
Cons
Stress filled workplace lots of yelling

Don’t do it
Front of House Manager/Server (Former Employee) - Grande Prairie, AB - 18 October 2023
Over worked and under paid. Absolutely terrible place to work. Very disorganized. Not a good environment. People don’t care and they treat you like garbage. I was hired as full time server and told I’d manage to help out. I never got serving jobs and the turnover rate for staff was crazy because it was so bad to work at.
Pros
Got the hours I wanted
Cons
Everything

Poor and manipulative management, toxic environment
Host/Server (Former Employee) - Ancaster, ON - 13 October 2023
Was hired as a server and instead made to do busy work and hosting for 2 weeks while they did everything possible to delay me working the job I was hired for. Got fired the day anfter asking to start serving once I was finished my training and confiding in management about a domestic violence situation I needed help from. Assistant manager told me no one would help me and had me fired the next day, and was told that I lacked the social skills to perform the job despite having worked as a server successfully in multiple other establishments. Change in ownership
Server (Current Employee) - Uxbridge, ON - 23 September 2023
Was a great place to work, flexible schedule and amazing coworkers. Then ownership changed and everything went downhill severely. I would not recommend working there now.

Ok company/work environment, awful work/life balance
Point of Sale Solutions Centre Specialist (Former Employee) - Richmond, BC - 18 September 2023
Position is Point if Sale Solutions Centre Specialist. Typical day involves picking up calls and supporting store managers from all BP locations across Canada and the US. Learned basic hardware and restaurant specific software troubleshooting. Manager is kind of condescending. Expects you to know so much given the poor training and few resources available to perform the job adequately. Workplace culture is ok, people are nice. Very few young people working in the company and not a lot of diversity. Hardest part of the job was on call rotation. Every few weeks you are required to provide after hours support on top of working your regular work week hours. If you are on call for weekends, you are essentially working almost 2 weeks straight. Expect to work late and wake up earlier. Mandatory corporate event attendance is pretty lame too. Free food is cool, but after working like a dog, I was not in the mood to socialize. Most enjoyable part of the job was the 1 hour break and clocking out.
Pros
1 hour long break, benefits, paid vacation and sick days
Cons
Work/life balance, Training, resources, work environment

Fast Paced Environment

Work in early mornings are quiet but productive, I learned how to move quickly and maintained good work hygiene. Management is rather clunky unfortunately, that was the hard part of work.
Pros
50% Food Discount
Cons
Poor Management, Inconsistent Hours, Little to No Lunch Breaks

Made good friends, but the pay is below average for the amount of work necessary.
Host/Expo (Current Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 11 September 2023
The culture is pretty toxic, managers who should have been fired won’t be because they are friends with the owner. The pay is bad, tips are horrible. I made some good friends at the job but the some of the managers don’t take the job seriousl enough. Staff is always complaining which leads to a toxic work environment filled with drama
Pros
Staff discount
Cons
As a host you are only tipped out $1 per hour, which compared to the rest of the staff is laughable
