this job is a 100 percent check point and no mistake is allowed. discrepancies were controlled in a robust system that passed through all levels of manufacturing control. immediate action was taken in place. all actions were controlled in a time based action. environment at the beginning is stressful but by the time will be easy. this is an industry with 60000 people in all over the world like multinational.
Terrible. Total mismanagement. Incompetent people running the show.
Directors are very arrogant and do not know how to talk to people.
Very tolerant about overtime when people are working at an average of 20% efficiency and hourly wages are extremely high.
Had an internship at the company for 16 months, there was plenty of opportunity for growth and learning. Had good exposure to both technical and non technical learning alike. Supervisors were patient when it came to learning new things and supportive of taking on more responsibilities.
Many folks lost their jobs for no or little reason . Promises from management of call backs for employment but didn't happen . Employees complaining of unstable work environment . Employees complaining of the company not correcting poorly prepared documentation . No corrective action being taken on documentation that arrives from internal depts that are not written in english .
Have worked at this company as a unionized worker, salaried and contractor. The company is predominantly run on the ground level by demands of the unions that don’t help the requirements of the end customers. For this company to make it efficient and progressive, it will need to get away from the culture of union dominance.GET RID OF THE UNIONS!, They create a hostile work environment.
The job itself is very enjoyable. I really did enjoy the work I was doing, the hours were reliable and consistent. Plenty of opportunity for over time if you want it, the pay is decent for the work you perform, but the benefits are lacking.
Lack of direction from supervisors to managers to senior management.
Nepotism & Cronyism play a large part in my particular part of the business an awful lot. Lack of knowledge. Lack of skill sets from workers new and old. Training department is equipped with people who are not qualified to train nor understand the fundamental principles of how to educate new employees to become better or grow. The safety department is the largest joke of all. There is a lack of PPE, a lack of support and no timely manner in which to deliver on the PPE. There are no definitive direction what to do when the carbon monoxide detectors are going off. There is so many things wrong with our small division of Bombardier Transportation, there is no wonder why Bombardier is a dying business. They are poorly run and highly mismanaged. Hopefully, Alstom, if the deal is sanctioned and finalized, hopefully, hopefully, they bring with them some competent people who understand what it takes to grow this business so that all involved can prosper rather than tread water.
Too many... lack of growing the business for future success.
Good pay but the admin above mid management was reactive rather that proactive. Now Bombardier is selling the rail devision. Even when advised months in advance, little to no action would be taken on glaringly obvious issues.
