Great environment for working with many talented people around. However, the company has been losing most of its programs and has laid off many employees.

Productive well established Aircraft Manufacturer
Project Management and Program control (Current Employee) –  Montréal, QC8 August 2019
Bombardier’s line of business jets is the most comprehensive of any original equipment manufacturer (OEM), with three leading aircraft families. Its line of Learjet, Challenger and Global jets allow customers to grow within the Bombardier business aircraft family as their travel requirements evolve

A reliable day to day task supporter with well established processes
I owe Bombardier big portion of my built experience

Like any other job , meeting and beating and winning daily challenges was the most interesting part of working for Bombardier

Large Company, Great Benefits,
Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Montréal, QC14 February 2019
Bombardier is a large company which during the recent work force reduction exercise, has lost/broken processes which makes internal dependent group projects increasingly difficult to manage. Hopefully things turn around.

The place of aerospace opportunities
Project Manager (Current Employee) –  Mirabel, QC5 July 2018
Some areas have more competitive resources than others. Overall people are very smart and the company is demanding, which is good in my view. Don't expect to get paid overtime for direct staff professionals.

Its a matter of pride to be a part of Bombardier and serve in the Rolling stock field for almost 20 years. Rolling stock is itself a field where one can diversify one's career and thrive among the best in the world market

Not a good company to work for
Project Management (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON10 December 2016
- Lots of disorganization. No clarity of job responsibilities
- Executives are action oriented, they don't take time to assess solution options and to assess risk. They make spontaneous decisions with unrealistic deadlines or logic and stress all workers out!
-No on-job training upon hiring
- Very bad culture. Lots of finger pointing, screaming, rudeness
- Lots of stress and pressure
- Most people are demotivated
- Advice: Think a lot before deciding to to work for Bombardier, especially Global 7000/8000 program since its development and is full of bad management practices.
Pros
good salary, good benefits
Cons
no training upon hiring, no clear responsibility, lots of process overlap between departments, lots of rudeness and unprofessional manners, negative culture

So sad a great company has been ruined by bad management philosphy and decissions
Customer Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Montreal Canada17 August 2015
A typical day at work was high paced and repetitive issues being addressed due to micro management.

What I learned was self taught or learned from other workers. For years Bombardier has had no funds to support employee training.

Management is very silo oriented. In short they do not look at the big picture but more the inner department profits. Some might say If the department is making money so is the company. However in many cases the department made nickels while the company lost millions.

Co-workers were fantastic. I was always lucky to be surrounded by professional co-workers who tried their utmost to get the job done.

The hardest part of the job was the micro managing of everything. This slowed down projects as well as frustrated many employees who wanted to get things done. As well over the years it was clear the company did not cover the cost of living increase with their raises. Hence every year you worked you were paid less. Human Resources quote to employees was " Well at least you have a job".

For me the most enjoyable part of the job was meeting interesting people in all parts of the world.
Pros
Due to my involvement with VIP customes I did have great experiences when dealing with them.
Cons
Very little personal life, health care reductions, salary cuts, no employee representation.

Working at Bombardier
PROJECT MANAGER - Q400 SYSTEMS (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON10 January 2015
Working at Bombardier provides challenges in getting cross functional buy-in for all changes related to the business. People that thrive in this business are people that are able to withstand criticism. My favourite part of the business is the amount of exposure I had with all the different people across all the different business functions.
