- Support the production (assembly and testing) of state of the art business aircrafts, and ultimately see the final products fly, which is always exciting and satisfying.
- Get exposure to all aircraft systems (all ATA chapters), thus, one never stops learning.

You are given a lot of independence and you are able to take ownership of your projects. The workplace culture is great and people are kind and helpful. Everyone is welcoming and Bombardier takes pride in being an equal opportunity employer.

Lots to learn, great work-life balance.

Not a lot of growth opportunity in the company.

I worked on the Global Aircraft platform. I like to think of the Global Aircraft as the Lamborghini of the aircraft industry. Bombardier makes amazing products.

A fallen star
Engineering Specialist (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON12 February 2017
A great place to work if you are passionate about airplanes. The opportunity to learn how airplanes and complex products are put together has been for my career. However, you may become frustrated by poor management practices.
Pros
Peers are passionate about their work.
Cons
Unstable work environment with recently lowered benefits. Management is weak and Montreal centric.

Disorganized and lack of leadership
Methods engineer (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON10 January 2017
Bombardier is a disorganized company with a huge lack of leadership and management. Employees expend 75% of the day in meanginless meetings with no clarity on goals and objectives. The lack of strategical busniness vision is also present. Middle and high level managers do not even provide their team with the right support, guidance, and resources. I would never work in Bombardier again. Frustrating experience!

Use to be a great company
engineer (Former Employee) –  Toronto, Montreal18 November 2015
Typical day - you fight fres. All design has been outsourced. All good leadership has left the firm. Now you are surrounded by "yes" men who have no idea how to build an aircraft let alone certify one.

Those who have been here for decades are actively counting on retiring soon.

Assess the failed promises, read the news and observe the stock price. If these observations do not scare you away from this place, then perhaps you deserve to work here.

Good luck!!

Interesting place to work
Engineering Professional (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON12 November 2015
This site used to be DeHavilland, that had a long history of creating the most amazing bush planes ever. There was still some expertise left and manufacturing of components in-house. Bombardier has become very political, and not about creating an amazing product for the customer. Much of the work is being outsourced to China and India. Work was always interesting and lots to learn.
Pros
Get to work with aircraft on a daily basis
Cons
Politics of the office

Avoid this place if you can
Engineer (Former Employee) –  Toronto27 November 2014
-New graduates with little to no experience are "promoted" to lead several projects - essentially because they are "yes" men.
-Identifying problems and recommending solutions will lead you to be placed in a stagnant area
-Work/Life balance does not exist. Bombardier wants your soul
-Salary is not commensurate with the responsibilities given
-Job security does not exist anywhere, especially at Bombardier
-Management are of the form of yes men or bull in a china shop. Very few quality managers left - they have all moved on to seek better opportunities
-Job culture: if you have a knife and know how to stab people in the back - you are golden.

Avoid this place if you can. Look at their track record, assess their stock price, assess what their leadership publicly state versus the actions. Bombardier may have been a great place - it is now a toxic toilet, run by the same leaders that bankrupt GM. Don't forget, it is a family owned firm.
