Typical call center
Technical Support/Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Halifax, NS25 March 2019
They claim to be different from other call centers but they're not, the atmosphere is depressing, management doesn't care about you unless you're not meeting some arbitrary goal.

Call Center with an honest attempt at rewarding culture
Reservations Agent, Boston Coach (Former Employee) –  Halifax, NS10 February 2019
Anyone who has worked in a Call Centre knows the mix of staff, and the differences between the work ethics of those individuals. Blue Ocean makes an honest attempt at making the culture enjoyable for those who want it to feel like more than just a paycheck.

Good starting job
BILINGUAL SPANISH CUSTOMER SUPPORT SPECIALIST (Former Employee) –  Halifax, NS6 November 2018
Overall friendly environment, clean, polite, very Canadian business casual culture
Not really opportunity to grow
Inconsistent Project Management, sometimes poor. Overall they treat employees very well with the exception of some empowered head supervisors and project manager
flexible hours, time off booking, accommodating
Old recruiting rep was amazing, when he moved to a different project within the company, the people who stayed really did an awful job not following up, etc
Pros
Good starting job, good learning opportunities, organized games with employees
Cons
not really opportunity to grow, some poor project management, micromanagment

I worked here almost 7 years and my co-workers were about the only positive of the place. If you are productive they reward you with more work, no pay
Pros
Sometimes great coworkers
Cons
Bad pay, no job advancement, high workload with no pay increase, blame for everything that goes wrong

Not for everybody
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Halifax, NS12 August 2018
Inadequate training, unrealistic expectations of employees. Call Center work is stressful (I have had experience) but the level of stress at this company is unacceptable. Can't recommend it to any but the most desperate. A revolving door of employees coming and going.
Pros
Benefits, good trainers
Cons
Weird hours, no support from management

Customer Service Agent (Former Employee) –  Halifax, NS25 July 2018
Very unprofessional coworkers here... People gossip and start rumors about one another, argue, and build cliques. It's like being on the set of Mean Girls, except it's real life.

If you stand up for your rights you get fired.
phone agent (Former Employee) –  Halifax, NS13 July 2018
If you have an issue with anything happening at the workplace its better to keep your mouth shut and not disagree with management as they will find any reason to fire you.
The place goes through people like is an amusement park.
Cons
long hours, harassment at the workplace, noone cares about your needs outside of work.

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) –  Halifax, NS29 April 2018
Would be a better place to work if the hours on projects were reasonable. Also some of the staff are unapproachable.
Medical benefits are good, and treats every Friday we aren't paid.
Pros
Free treats, Medical Benefits
Cons
Late nights, Staff

The people there are great
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Halifax, NS1 November 2017
Where the people there are great and they try to make it as home like as possible, there's no getting around the fact that it's a contact centre.

If that's what you want or you need a job, this is one of the better ones out there. However, if you don't want to be yelled at by angry customers all day, maybe it isn't for you.
Pros
Most of the workers.
Cons
Hours. Pay.

Project Coach (Current Employee) –  Halifax, NS26 August 2017
A friendly company that cares about the culture and care of its employees. Treat days occur Fridays opposite pay days, cake days monthly for birthday celebrations, and in house events for holidays. Advancement opportunities with different positions in different projects allow for growth and changing roles. Customer service oriented; so no sales, but expect some challenging calls from customers or supporting agents on those hard calls.
Pros
Treat days and holiday celebrations in house, . Positive environment, Customer service oriented (no sales criteria)
Cons
Shift work, difficulty to get support from management.

Customer Service Agent (Former Employee) –  Halifax, NS15 April 2017
Management are fair and reasonable.
When working on inbound projects (in my case, Aliant, Boston Coach, Winners), the work is great--it's intense and really engaged when on a call, and then slower-paced between calls, and it is (or at least was when I was there) acceptable to quietly read/work on one's own project. Great for students!

RMA Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Halifax, NS18 March 2017
This is a great place to work if you need specific hours - they are very willing to assist with this. However, for what my specific role requires me to do, I do not feel like the pay is adequate.

Outbound Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Halifax, NS28 February 2017
Enjoyed my time with this employer.
Very busy, but learned many new things everyday.
The hardest pert of the job would be the Customers who verbally abuse you, but you learn to not take it personally. The greatest part of this job was the wonderful people i got the pleasure to work with each and every day.
Pros
Unlimited free coffee
Cons
Poor Management

Pros

Cons
shift work to very late in the evening. best for persons with transportation, as getting a bus is not good for any night shift.

It is your typical multi client call centre. The environment is fun, the job is easy, the security doesn't exist.

Work here only if you need to, but always continue to search.
Pros
Treat day
Cons
Management is one-minded
