This place is hanging on by a thread.
Staff Nurse (Current Employee) - Dundas, ON - 8 November 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Plenty of shifts because there is never any permanent staff What is the most stressful part about working at the company? No support from management when you have a concern What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Toxic! It’s like being back in high school with all the cliques. Ridiculous for a workplace

Not a place to succeed
Registered Nurse - Full Time (Former Employee) - Dundas, ON - 25 February 2023
Short staffed, or staffed with new grads that are inexperienced and unsafe. Management does not engage with staff or residents. The home does not have a generator or central air, the power goes off frequently leaving everyone in the dark and either cold or hot, depending on the season. There is not enough linen or supplies. There are no activities for the residents. Constant roll over of management and staff. The building is very old, shower floor leaks, minimal housekeepers and no security. Look for other long term care homes if you want to keep your nursing license.
Pros
The residents
Cons
Lack of staff, supplies and support

Old building
RPN (Former Employee) - Hamilton, ON - 17 April 2022
Quite an old building. On first impression it gives off the vibe of someplace that won't be around for much longer. Constantly short staffed. Residents can be demanding. Coworkers ok in general, just not enough of them to make the shift run smooth.

traumatizing
Housekeeping, kitchen help, laundry etc (Former Employee) - Dundas, ON - 1 May 2019
Management was extremely unorganized, patients were neglected and totally disregarded. Most co-workers were extremely nice but there were enough that weren't to make days harder than they needed to be. The best part of the job was the residents and getting to know them but it was hard to go home in tears every day.

Co-worker, job, pay, place of work
Environmental Aide (Former Employee) - Dundas, ON - 26 March 2019
Gossip non-stop..people are always criticizing behind your back. No matter how much you clean it's always dirty. Pay is minimum. Place sucks. Pathetic.
Pros
The residents are friendly
Cons
The place needs MAJOR RENOVATION.

Let be honest
Psw (Current Employee) - Dundas, ON - 17 October 2017
Years ago wonderful place to be now turn around go some where else. Always short staffed, always short for items for staff to do their job ( linen) rules don't only apply to some people. Some people are down the hall doing their work while others stand at the desk reading the newspaper.the front line staff never gets appreciated. Money for Christmas party was kept by Manger and staff recited nothing not even a card.. residents not treated very nice by some people and everyone else looks the other way. Please if your looking to place family there or looking for a job please look else where
Pros
Unionized
Cons
Everythung else

Good experience, met lots of great people. The pay was good, and hours were plenty if I wanted them. Most of the nurses were excellent and did their job well.

Free gatorade on hot days.
Cons
Shifts were only 3 hours long

Staff are able to provide 1-1 care and build positive relationships with residents. Staff all work as a team. Take the time to get to know residents and there stories. Relaxed atmosphere for residents and variety of recreational activities cater to different population groups.
Pros
Small facility family atmosphere, kind hearted workers.
Cons
Older building

Staff committed to provision of excellent care
Charge Nurse, RN (Current Employee) - Dundas, ON - 29 April 2015
Fast paced, challenging career choice. Emphasis on time management, critical thinking and organization. Staff (registered and unregulated) give 110% in an effort to meet and exceed management, resident and family members expectations. The most enjoyable part of the job finding a few minutes to connect personally with a resident...they often given so much more then they take!
Pros
Personalized resident care
Cons
Not enough time to connect with residents and their families
