Established in 1948, Big Freight Systems is a leading Canadian asset-based flatbed and specialized trucking and freight management company based in Steinbach and Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Celebrating our 70th anniversary in 2018, Big Freight has grown from a modest four truck operation providing local cartage services in Southeast Manitoba into a specialized carrier with more than 600 pieces of rolling stock servicing all of North America.
Our professional team provides services and solutions in four key specialties: Asset Based Freight Management, Logistics Management, Fleet Maintenance and Warehousing & Distribution.
In May 2017, Big Freight Systems was the first Canadian carrier to join Daseke, Inc., the leading consolidator and largest flatbed and specialized company in North America. Daseke companies have a combined fleet of more than 5,200 trucks and 11,000 flat bed and specialized trailers serving some of the world’s most respected major industrial shippers.
At Big Freight, our commitment to safety is priority one. Nothing is more important to us than ensuring that our customers’ freight is delivered damage free and that our drivers return home safely after every trip. As such, in 2016 the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) recognized Big Freight as North America’s Safest Fleet (under 25 million miles) with the prestigious National Fleet Safety Award.

Worked specialized van division. Good miles most of the time, but alot of down time waiting for delivery locations to open etc. Trucks governed at 65 mph.
There are always loads to take, dispatch ok but don’t really feel like working after hours nor over a weekend. Difficult to get questions answered or border crossing done after hours or weekends. Poor bare minimum benefits and below standards hourly pay, layover and waiting time. Company has a lot of work but wants to pay bare minimum even for Manitoba standards. Look somewhere else. You will be sorry for starting your career there after couple of weeks. Shame on you guys for wasting great fleet potential and not appreciating workers efforts.
I really think BFS is a great place to work. It's fast paced and busy, the people there really turn into family. Room for advancement and great opportunities.
They have the miles, well organized, home on time, pay is always there.
Good Company to work for! Highly recommended. Staff and co- workers are helpful. If you sit awaiting dispatch or you need a room they pay. Lots of loads and or multiple drops. It’s all good!
