ok job with the odd free pizza lunch

Collect keys and lists from front desk, go down to basement to collect cleaners and supplies and linens. (If available)
The odd time there were no check outs but overall rooms were to be striped first.

Best Western is an excellent place to work, the staff are all awesome and the shifts are fun and go by fast. Although the management is all over the place sometimes and during the slow seasons you get less shifts.

A position only befit to those who are tough skinned and can keep a face
Guest Services Representative (Current Employee) –  London, ON20 January 2018
This position is most suited to people who are extremely outgoing and can see the best in any situation. Numerous interactions with guests and employees alike. A typical day can vary depending on which shift you are put on. Mornings are usually your checkouts, days are checking in, and nights are for financial reports.
This position challenges the employee as they have to multi task a variety of task at once (ex numerous phone calls while checking in people at the same time). The position is usually by yourself in which it can be difficult to manage all things at once. You are the front line and the punching bag for all guests that have problems. You WILL face many difficult people who may not be understanding and it is your job to either calm them down or just take the brute force of what choice words they will say to you.
The workplace culture feels that everyone is almost independent but working together to keep customer satisfaction a high. Sometimes you may be accompanied by management if they have business on that day but many times you will be independent by yourself. You will have to make decisions at times that are sensitive and it your call whether to do what you feel is right.

No advancement, high expectations for lower-end brand

The management was terrible; no one actually deserved their position and would fight with you whenever you brought up innovative ideas since they viewed you as a threat. Communication between co-workers was awful, and of course if you have been there for the longest and are as uneducated as the management team, the managers are more likely to side with that employee, rather than the employee who is being wronged but is educated and could easily in the future move up within the company, if only that opportunity was ever actually available.

As a banquet server, in a large Hotel, management treated employees like family. Wonderful place to work. Busy place with many service areas. Different every shift.

I love how I don’t need to go to the gym because I get so much exercise being a house keeper! It’s super fast pace and I always feel awesome once I’m done knowing I was very productive during my shift and accomplished something for the people to enjoy:)

The management at the Best Western followed a lot of favoritism when it came to the treatment of the staff. If the manager was not close to the staff member, they were not treated equally.

Housekeeping manager is awful. Very hard physical labor. Would NOT recommend working here. There is a reason no one stays there long. Maybe if the housekeeping manager was changed it would be a better work environment

You will regret working here. You can work here if you are desperate but you will be extremely unhappy. Understaffed. Bullied by current staff and the GM. throw you around in every department and at all hours. Don’t appreciate workers.

I learned lots of stuff there I love the work environment and how they treat there staff. The hardest part was they make one girl do anywhere from 15 to 30 rooms by herself
