Overall good experience but management stinks
Appliance Sales Specialist (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON10 September 2019
Hitting budget is crucial and if its missed then management can be a bit aggressive with tactics to improve. Better sell like crazy or your getting 1 shift a week. Lots of snakes in management so do not trust any of them they are your boss and not your friend cause they will turn on you if it means saving themselves from head office.

Very hectic in the winter season
Sales Specialist (Former Employee) –  Whitby, ON2 September 2019
I'm sure that as long as its not the holiday season, it's not terribly busy, but if it is you're going to do a lot of walking. Don't expect fellow workers to have time to help you.

Amazing learning experience
Mobile Hybrid/Mobile Sales Specialist (Current Employee) –  Ancaster, ON18 August 2019
This is a great place to work that accommodates your specific work hours and allows you to shape yourself into a great, knowledgeable part of the team! Plenty of evolving tech to expand your horizon and learn about what interests you the most to converse with co-workers and customers to learn more, become professional and grow. The work is minimum wage and not competitive or commission based even in the mobile department, so it is not the place to stay forever for a competitive wage, but is a great place to start your career.
Pros
Relaxing introduction to sales
Cons
Non-commission/ little recognition for higher performance over co-workers

Great for first job
SALES SPECIALIST (Former Employee) –  British Columbia4 August 2019
Great first job. Can almost make your own hours. Management is very young, young minded and sometimes does not understand their job title. Very high turnover. The most enjoyable part was seeing, learning and playing with new technology everyday.

Productive and fun
Multichannel Sales Specialist (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB27 February 2019
A typical day of work involved main functions that are repetitive like opening and closing duties, in addition to interacting with customers. The job teaches you a lot of skills. Management is great and helpful. Workplace culture has a lot of positive values. The hardest part is getting through the longer days when it’s super slow. The best part is employee discounts.
Pros
Free snacks, employee discounts, advancement opportunities
Cons
Slow months of the year.

It's a fun place to work at. A lot of training, but managers are not terribly pressuring. Very flexible schedules. Great to have benefits as a part timer. Discounts are good, pay is bad.

Awesome place to work upon if you are starting your careers in retail. Management is super helpful and there is a great scope of learning and taking your decisions while working on Sales Floor. I love the customer interactions so used to be one of the top scorers in customer feedback score in the Best Buy Regent, Winnipeg.

Best Buy Summary
Part Time Sales Specialist (Current Employee) –  Richmond, BC5 December 2018
Great workplace culture because non-commission based.
Staffs are very friendly and helpful, and the training is great.
Turnover rate is high because low pay but you will find your goal in the company if it means something to you.
Value in Best Buy is clear and important; a lots of things to learn and prepare you for work outside especially any retail company.

Amazing coworkers, but managers put too much pressure on employees
Sales Specialist (Former Employee) –  Ottawa, ON23 November 2018
Best Buy expects employees to function like they're getting paid commission, however, refuses to add monetary incentives for larger sales. They need to figure out a way to motivate employees whether that be with money or product giveaways.
Pros
Fun environment
Cons
Too much pressure
