Good First Job or Part-time job to have
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) –  Montréal, QC10 January 2020
This was my first job and it was really easy to make friends with the team and the store motto is "One team, one dream." This is supposed to promote teamwork and working towards the same goal which is keeping the customers happy and still hitting your numbers. This phrase can also be used against you should you have anything to complain about that would inconvenience management. As long as you are part-time or in a position of management, this is a great place. If you go full time or are trying to move up in the company it becomes not as fun to work there. I've seen most of my friends who have been loyal to the company for 5+ years leave due to this.

The work isn't hard, and should you encounter a difficult customer or situation you always have the team to back you up or help blow off steam. I think this place is a good place to start off.
Pros
good benefits, good staff
Cons
favoritism, can be toxic

Sales Specialist/ Customer Service/ Operations (Former Employee) –  Cornwall, ON3 January 2020
Working at Best Buy has been one of my favourite jobs yet. The managers encourage the employees and give feedback to help them grow and improve on their retail skills, customer service skills, and any other skills that help them grow.

Customer Service Rep (Former Employee) –  Vancouver, BC19 December 2019
Pay was low, but the job is mostly searching for younger people in school rather than those who are older and looking for more pay and benefits to suit their living needs.

it was a very nice place to work, everyone was super friendly and there was never nothing to do. the sales people don't work off of commission so its not as much of a battle to get sales as well as there is someone right at the door to help you find the product you are looking for as soon as you walk in the door.

Not a bad place - only really an entry level job
customer service (Current Employee) –  Langley, BC3 December 2019
Not a lot of room for growth they only promote those the current management like. Flexible hours, ok benefits for full timers and paid sick days. Good employee discount but pay isn't very competitive or good. Expect a 2% raise at 6 months then yearly from there

Sales Representative/Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  North York, ON2 December 2019
It's a good place to work part-time. You can outgrow the company very quickly because it's there's not a lot of room for growth. The work environment is nice when you have good coworkers, but management can sometimes be terrible

not an inclusive environment, impossible to advance. hours were lacking and there is never a guarantee of shifts every two weeks. management was closed off and it was impossible to fit in as an outsider

I did not like it much.
I do not recommend employement there as I believe you are underpaid when working there.
The only good thing is the flexible schedule.

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) –  barrhaven3 October 2019
Can be a great place to work. Culture has changed. Leadership is more focused on numbers. District doesn't make staff happiness a priority. Not a lot of chance for moving up in the company.

A typical day at work at Best Buy is getting yelled at by management for not knowing how to do a so called "basic task" when they had never taught that task to you. If you had a question or needed help, management would tell you "you should already know this." The hardest part of the job for sure is finding the enjoyment to stay in the position. The only good part of the job is the friendships that you make with the people around the store.
