Hours are very flexible; however, finding time to take Holiday is extremely difficult.Answered 10 June 2020
I live in the interior of BC and I’m interested in remote working. Can the training also be performed remotely online or is it onsight in-person only? How long is the training period and does it include compensation upon completion (because I would incur expenses for travel and participation)?Asked 29 April 2020
Can all be done remotely, however training and gaining a performance level to be a good Accounting Associate will be difficult.Answered 10 June 2020
It’s so inconsistent and scattered. You are dealing with people who haven’t got a clue in the world how to do bookkeeping or how to file taxes and you are left to clean up the mess for them.
There is so much wrong with this company at it’s core, and that’s becoming more and more evident because they are only open due to negligent investors that clearly didn’t see the mess that was going on when they cut the check.
Anyone with a background in business can very easily look at the model Bench runs off of and know it is bound to fail.
You have fresh grads that are clinging to the first job they get post-graduation and after the recruiting team has talked the job up so much they happen to miss how horrible the pay is and burnout after a year (usually less). I regret everyday I spent at Bench. It was the biggest waste of time, and what do I have to show for it? A salary that wasn’t liveable. Steer. Clear. It is seriously a disaster and it becomes very evident once you have your own portfolio. The app is a mess, the workflow is a mess, the services itself is a mess, the entire thing is a mess. I give it another 3 years tops.Answered 6 March 2020
Though the entry level job ad states, "Worried about not having the experience for the role? Don't fret, we'll train you during our in-house Bench Operations Academy; you'll be up and running in no time", do applicants still at least need to have 'bookkeeping' or 'accounting' education or is this truly an ‘on-the-job’ trainable opportunity?Asked 29 April 2020
