Sales Consultant

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Commission is garbage compared to competitors and management is hit or miss. Most people are annoying and add you in Whatsapp Group Chats where they are always messaging outside work hours.

Pros

Easy good benefits

Cons

Management

As long as you are a hard worker with over 20 years experience you will be given a package

No work life balance. Management throws you under the bus every opportunity possible to make them look better. Overtime is mandatory but never ever paid. Weekends and overnight mandatory but no overtime paid. Such a horrible experience.

Everything great

The job is great. Salary is great. Target is genuine. Management should be more in sales role and be on ground. Coaching needs improvement. Salary is good. Should introduce greeters.

Pretty fun place but gets boring

it's fun when its busy, but as soon as you hit the slow season and there's no customers, its brutal, you get in trouble for not hitting targets and you're not making any commission so you can barely live. there's very little room for raises and advancements. but when you're in the Christmas season you can make a couple thousand in commission. for the most part management is great at all the stores i worked at, no complaints there.

Pros

good management, commission and flexibility

Cons

salary, it's boring and no room for advancement

Really depends on your team

Depending on the store location, it is very different. It is a small team and you have to compete to get sales. High sale target, not only for phone but also home service, insurance, accessories, tablet/watch. Salary varies depending on the location as well because it is all about that commission. If you can’t sell, its not worth it. Favouritism is there from the regional manager as well. If he/she likes someone else, they are going to be the next manager no matter your numbers or how hard you try.

Pros

Learn a lot, small team

Cons

Sales target

Great

Lots of upside. Never a dull moment. Everyone was allowed to say their ideas. People could work bybthemselves or in a group, whichever was better for yourself.

Pros

Bonuses

Cons

Forced overtime

Sales rep at Bell is a great job!

I love the team I worked with. The job is relaxed but simultaneously stays interesting. The hourly pay is bad but the comission helps a lot.I would recommend this job to anyone

Pros

Great benefits. Flexible schedule.

Cons

Inconsistent hours. Pay has direct correlation with foot traffic.

Good company to work for

If you are a good sales rep, you'll not find it difficult to work here, good benefits, not competitive in terms of pay and they treat you like a part-time employee even if you work full time. Good company to work for nonetheless because they give out awesome benefits and good RRSP and ESP programs.

Good people, okay pay

A lot of good work, but pay is not competitive. If living outside larger cities, little opportunity for advancement. Overall a good employer, flexible environment.

Where dreams go to fade

Avoid this company: They do not care if you are new, they do not care if you have mental difficulty from life problems (like they advertise ironically). This might sound like a disgruntled employee but I was the most educated in a room, first in and last out but was not given the support I needed when a family member was sick. Cubicle work with no connection: Do anything else.

Pros

Benefits are great

Cons

Old school, uncaring management, no interest in helping, no support.

Bell is a good company to work for

Salaries are generally mediocre but benefits are definitely higher than average. Bell is a good stepping stone, especially in Canada; honestly, the reputation crosses borders. The environment is very calm and stress-free.

Not sure what this means.

If you are working as a tech, expect lots of hours at busy times, the money is good, the training is good, and the tools are good. I worked for 36 years and retired 12 years in Ottawa I mostly worked large jobs and the customer is your boss, they expect that you work when needed at night, on weekends, etc even if you doing res it is the same expectation just more one for one, what I liked is you plan your jobs and it's up to the tech to get them done.

Great sales job

Worked here for a while and love the culture, compensation and the company is extremely supportive. Only thing I can think of that would be a con is that they relocate you constantly.

Fun workplace

Hourly salary suppose to be more than what they are paying right now. It means if don't sell you're not getting enough money to face your billing situation. They should pay people at list $20/hour to keep people working there, that will be more exciting workplace.

Good company to work for in a fast-paced collaborative environment

Overall, great people at the organization and good collaborative culture. Really dynamic competitive environment. Senior leadership focus on results and top-line where I think there is room for improvement to focus on the people as well. Compensation could be higher.

Where careers go to die.

I've seen it time and time again, those who work at Bell Mobility who are good at what they don't last long. This is because Bell has very poor advancement opportunities.Usually those who stay are lifers and bottom of the barrel employees.Pay is well below market standard.

Great colleagues

Grest place to work. Some management need to be trained accordingly. Great benefits and perks. Need to decrease the favouritism and nepotism. Should focus on mental health of employees.
