Great company
Bell Technician (Former Employee) - Montréal, QC - 19 November 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGreat company only missing the listening of the employees for some advancement. One big negative point: they don’t respect the mental health of employees when they are in need…

Terrible job
Technician (Former Employee) - Cornwall, ON - 25 October 2023
Terrible pay to start. As a part timer you never get weekends off. Forced mandatory overtime. Management is terrible. No one wants to help anyone. Bare minimum training yet expected to do the jobs perfectly.
Pros
None
Cons
Everything.

Technician (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 12 December 2022
Great pay good people. Tends to be overly misunderstood in terms of the newer management staff, forgetting technician work is not production line work. Many variables need be considered.

Highly Stressful
Technician (Former Employee) - Ottawa Bells Corners, ON - 10 December 2022
I have worked for a very long time now for Bell over 10 years. In last several years it almost become unbearable tbh. They keep having employees leave but demand remaining take on those jobs with zero more compensation.
Pros
Pay but that is not even close to keeping up
Cons
Incredibly high stress

No accountability from the people at the top
Technician (Current Employee) - Barrie, ON - 21 July 2022
Most stressful and disorganized, toxic work environment ever. You are dammed if you do, and dammed if you do. Nobody in any department knows what's going on, they don't know what they are doing, and only pass the buck. In the end maybe 50% of what should be done for the customers is completed.

Pay is really low, high risk of injury
Technician (Current Employee) - Windsor, ON - 27 June 2021
Been here for about 2 years learned a lot but never got a chance to apply anything or even get anything we get presentations to prepare during our own time. Company values their each hour of investment and will always expect 2H work in return no matter what. Things are getting more complex and complex and at one point you just think to leave. Except if at this point you are earning at capped pay. They release the positions internally for which they already have an internal candidate selected.
Pros
Work and work and work 35 is the capped pay, which you will get after 8 years of work and seniority.
Cons
You can learn but hard to get promotion or apply anything anywhere, efficiency and performance is the top priorities.

Best employment for self starter who can work in groups occasionally
Technician (Former Employee) - Oakville, ON - 13 June 2021
Used to be a utility run by technicians and engineers, but since deregulation of the industry has become a service provider and is run by accountants and business majors. Good for profits but not so great for the employees.
Pros
Job security in a union environment
Cons
Deteriorating working conditions

Jobs at Bell
Technician positionsGood For High school Grads.
Technician (Current Employee) - Windsor, ON - 3 July 2020
As a field Tech. If you are new to the town in just couple of months you will be familiar with your towns map, like restaurants, what's trending how people talk, what age group is best to have conversation with, getting knowledge of how things workout in certain areas. On top of that you get to travel around the town on companies vehicle, know how to work at height, house prices nearby and much more.
Pros
Hourly wage 8 to 5 schedule most of the days, part-time weekends availability 👌, nice ops managers In windsor.
Cons
Not good for Full-Time your availability should be all day 8 to 9. Perfomance matrix in place, Decentralized system, hard to deal with various departments for a change that customer asks for, No internal promotions

I install new internet connections at customers houses, as well as fix problems with their internet. The Management team is very helpful and helps a techician throughout their jobs whenever needed. they are always availble for any kind of help. The whole management team is very helpful.

Good people and job
Technician (Current Employee) - Sudbury - 25 July 2019
The job is great, hours are not reliable as a par timer but other than that I love it. You meet new people every day and the people I work with are all fantastic.

huge and professional place to work in, with a diverse of infrastructure and technologies
Technician (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 3 July 2019
i used to start my day by taking the TTc to the workshop at Etoecoke,
Toronto and load my tools and spare parts to the vehicle and drive to the first customer at 8 AM
i used to average 3 work orders per day, which we get them through and app and then i closing my day at 7 PM by returning the vehicle to the workshop and make my daily reports through the apps.
i had a to month training of fiber optics, cooper and TV installation and maintenance for Bell infrastructure.
The management tends to depend on the apps and tends automate the operations, but they provide a good deal of resources
work place culture is good while most of the times are on field with customers
the hardest part of the job is the environmental conditions on the field
and the enjoyment is in involving in good conversations with customers
Pros
resources
Cons
micromanagement

Technician (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 13 June 2019
Terrible hours and pay. Not a bad job if you are young. There are some good workers, but the job teaches you how to become lazy. The worst part of the job is going into someone cockroach infested home.

An ok place to work
Technician (Former Employee) - Mississauga, ON - 25 January 2019
An okay place to work. It was much better back in mid 2000s. But salary is below industry standard. Aggressive environment. KPI oriented. Team work was lacking on my team. My team had a lot of finger pointing.
Cons
long hours, aggressive
