Overall, a good place to work with an emphasis on fast pace activity. The best part of the job is the building of relationships with the clients. The tough part is doing all the activities expected in a given day (lots of micro management).
archaic computer systems
This role I had , suited my lifestyle for a few years. I had a few awesome colleagues and I keep in touch with a few too after I left. My clients liked me but not my products. At times this was embarrassing.
Although the branch teams are usually nice, management on top oftens fails to motivate, drive and promote their staff. Also, the system is so far behind other financial institutions, service has to be heavens above top notch to stay remotely on par with the others. Despite all those shortcomings, expectations are way too high. Nope, nope, nope
Good teamwork and team spirit within branches.
Poor technology, poor management, high expectations.
Good to work in Laurentian to gain some industry experience but not at all for you career advancement Take LBCFG offer if there is no other option but If you have multiple options better do some research and compare all organizations throughly
Daily financial transactions were time sensitive, resulting in long hours to complete and increased stress levels. With everyone being so busy, there were times when I was delayed in completing certain tasks, as I could not get guidance from senior coworkers/
Comraderie with experienced coworkers
Lack of initial training, inability to work from home.
The typical day beguns at 8:30am. Learnt a deeper appreciation of diversity and the management culture is excellent - involving and considerate. Hope to get position higher-up that involves creativity and oroblem solving. Although, it is still an evolving business entity and this creates room for growth and expansion in the market place.
I learned requirements for loans, 3 new systems and electronic fax and create a word tool to make easier and faster to send faxes to financial advisors.
Free lunches when overtime, good salary
repetitive tasks can be boring after a while
