Seasonal Brand Ambassador in Ajax, ON
no room to grow, no benefits, empty promises
was hired to work as a seasonal sales associate and the regular staff boast about being a “hip company”, spent the interview showing us Banana Republic ads to spread propaganda that makes it seem like they adore new hires, but in actuality, they just put up with new hires for the time being, then fire them later on. The store has favourites, and if you're a new hire expect that they won't give you more than 4 to 8 hours a week and reject any shifts you attempt to pick up. It's kinda sad because I was really excited when I was hired at first.

Fun, Hardworking and Genuine Experience
Working with the BR family has been so refreshing! The management truly cares about everyone's work style being versatile by being multitaskers and giving everyone a fair shot at working the various jobs around the store such as: cashier, selling, fitting rooms, backstock, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful and it makes the day go by faster especially while keeping up with the standards of the store. It may feel intimidating but always ask questions! It's better to ask to get the correct answer than to assume something and have a chance of being wrong.Scheduling would be the con of the store only because of the inequality in hours and shifts given to people. There isn't much of a rotation; mainly the same people working weekly rather than switching up the team each week to allow everyone a fair opportunity to make money and get experience.

Very bad management
The managers are very rude and they don’t give you hours. First it’s not commission based but if u don’t sell they will send u home and not give you hours anymore. One bad sales day= no hours for at least 3 weeks. I just worked there to get by for school or else I would not recommend. They keep hiring people even though they have enough staff. They can’t even distribute the hours between the existing employees forget the new ones. Only the people u work with are nice but the management is bad.
Brand Ambassador (worker) in Niagara Falls, ON
It’s a very disorganized place to work. I find that it’s very “he said she said” or “do as I say, not as I do” type of place. no one has any kind of communication, especially in management. They do try and make you feel heard and be there for you have you’re having personal difficulties, but other than that there’s no real training.
It isn’t a hard place to work, but it would be nice if there was one line of communication.
