Good place to work.

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Management lacked direction. Focus seemed to change quite a bit. Overall, I enjoyed working there and only left due to a downturn in buisness resulting from COVID.

Time waste

Save your time and money driving all over hells half acre in your own vehicle. Minimum reimbursement for fuel if any. HR is a joke and you would be lucky if they pick up the phone. Disbatch is also an unorganized mess, you dont know where you will be going the next day until 9 that night sometimes. If you dont work weekends they will punish you and not give you work for the week. If you are an apprentice, save your time and go somethere where you will learn something and be treated better than a piece of livestock.

Good to Grow

Axiom is a good place to grow - for many people. I started with Axiom in 2015, and I have worked in both the office and multiple project sites. The management team at Axiom went through changes between 2016-2017 but has really evolved into a positive and supportive team. Like all of our employees, I was given the opportunity to grow and develop my skills within the company. Axiom has a great education and training reimbursement program and prizes skills relevant to the industry, career, and health & safety. As well, Axiom provides great opportunities for face time and development with Axiom’s senior management and executive teams. Axiom's employees work hard, and the management team supports them. Typically, hours worked range from 6 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday with optional overtime. The office staff tend to get some flexibility as they can also work remotely - which is a benefit to anyone. There can also be travel related to work. Axiom has a workplace culture that celebrates successes and tries to learn the most from other experiences. To show gratitude for employees during work hours Axiom has pizza parties for project milestones achieved, as well as donuts and coffee during weekend work. Around holidays, Axiom gives BBQ's to thank employees for their contributions. There are annual holiday parties run by Axiom for its employees and their spouses/family. The hardest part of the job is that we are undergoing significant growth and change, which is also a benefit. For many people, this can be stressful, for others a chance to grow. A great place to work!

This is the BEST Millwrighting Company that I have ever worked for. There are no secrets here. All Axiom expects from you is to show up every day, on time and put in a honest days work, for a honest days pay...it is really that simple. The Foreman in the field along with the Foreman in the Fab Shop always take time to listen to their workers, they are always in constant dialogue, they are always mentoring and tutoring giving their Apprentices the confidence they need to be successful. The Management Team and the Foreman are always in constant conservation looking for their next Foreman. A workers who show up every day, on time, who is ready to work with a good work ethic/attitude will always be first in line for a promotion....always. A great place to work.

Pros

Excellent opportunity for advancement.

Cons

You might have to start early and work a long day once in a while.

have chewed up and spit out every millwright around. only took job to get my hours to finish apprenticeship. Team leaders were awesome guys with me,dispatch and management were pricks. Was good place to gain experience in all avenues of millwrighting. Good fill in job inbetween job hunting, expect to be stuck in traffic 2 hours of the day with no pay

Hello, thank you for your feedback. All field employees who travel are paid a fuel allowance on a daily basis on top of their hourly rate on site hence there is compensation for travel at Axiom. We appreciate your feedback and all the very best for your future.

Young apprentices shoud stay away

Poor training, no leadership whatsoever, full-on bullying. Simply some half decent last-ditch employment for people who cant find better mechanic jobs. Young people need to stay away. This is not where you're going to learn to be a solid Millwright. You want to get into this trade, keep digging and you'll find much better teachers. These guys will turn you into a hack and you'll be laughed at wherever you go.

Pros

It's work

Cons

Management and dispatch don't care about your life.

Millwright for various service and construction jobs

They have many good jobs, they are not steady employment even when they claim to have lots of work. Jobs are various and unpredictable also they will play games with your livelyhood (ex. if you turn down overtime once, expect them to treat you like you don't want work anymore)

Pros

They pay you for working

Cons

Plan to work harder than usual for your pay

Millwright

They will promise to hire you for full time, but you will work oly two -three day a week. Most of time you have to work far away from home, use you own car, get stuck in traffic. Company reimbursement for gas is very mall ,is added to your income and taxable.Benefits are very small, hourly rate is not competitive compared to other similar companies.

Pros

Good coworkers

Cons

Good only if you can't find another job

Focuc is work and getting the job done.

Days are busy, learned new software, more HACCP, managed all H&S aspect. Culture is easy, people do not stand over you. There were a lot of management changes in a short period of time, causing things to get dropped.

Pros

Freedom to do items when you wanted to.

Cons

Long hours
