Demanding job
Fast workpace, not enough time to get everything done well. Work life balance is that work consumes 10 hours a day and time on weekends. Pay is good to very good. Expectation is that you are a professional, paid that way and will get the job done.

They were stuck in the past not in the present and what’s changing out there.

I hated the team. They were there fir so long they were stuck in the past and not what’s present and changing.

Great company with great flexbility
Great company to work for. Allows employees to have a work/life balance and has a great overall structure. The only downside is that there is no job security. Throughout my 9 years with Avaya I've seen dozens of layoff periods and the atmosphere was somewhat grim.

Excellent potential
Faces challenge of evolving from its legacy solution into a cohesive cloud offering. Needs to shift to a growth mode from its traditional cost cutting mode.

Challenging Flexible work Environment
Great Place to work. A very challenging work environment and amazing people. Due to the cuts in recent years, there has been some instability but I think things are getting better.

Once an interesting place to work- not now
Plagued by bureaucracy and silo'ed teams there was no place to go but down for this company.
They had a good product but no management to backbone to push it forward.

Poor senior management that kept changing
Pros
No perks, remote work available
Cons
cut backs removed all comforts

Good company, great technology!!
Worked on Avaya Aura / VOIP product suite. While the technology was cutting edge; it wasn't a conducive environment for business during the market crash. Worked with a lot of smart people. Was fun!!

Not so great
Avaya has a huge problem with their technology, they inherited the enterprise portfolio from Nortel and completely abandoned all of the positive benefits from the Nortel portfolio. Avaya also did not properly incorporate and/or manage the Nortel Enterprise data portfolio. Whereas Nortel's philosophy was the customer always came first, Avaya's was to try to swindle as much money from the customer as possible...and often by producing long, complicated and illegible quotes/proposals
Pros
Nortel Portfolio
Cons
Management, corporate philosophy

Toxic Work Environment
focus of company is entirely on revenue, not customer satisfaction. Each employee group works against others in order to protect their own revenue results. Lots of unnecessary processes, tracking, reporting diminishing time that customer-facing employees have to actually work with customers. No training on new products so teams have to learn as they implement. Pricing models are flawed. No work-life balance.
Pros
100% home based
Cons
Expectation one is available 24/7

Every Day Is Challenging
There are a lot of new Platforms in Avaya which can give many chances to employees to grow their technical and troubleshooting skills.
Everyday we get a chance to work with our deployment team where we can understand the concept how every product is working in call flow.

Good place to work
To Me this was an excellent job but financial matters meant the loss of some staff was necessary to save funds and the loss off 400 positions to support made it logical to release me.
Cons
no Equipment to work with

Good culture but low pay and high stress
How can I say it any other way the atmosphere and people were great but the stress and low pay was ultimately why I left. I was head hunted by my next employer for a 30% increase in income.
Pros
Good people
Cons
Low pay

Run by Americans...
It's run by Americans who think that everybody else is American. Senior management and architects were severely limited in their technical knowledge and this could spell doom for projects.
Pros

Cons
Americans.

Dynamic and always cutting edge. Coworkers are diverse and provides a fresh outlook and a wealth of experience.
Dynamic and always cutting edge. Coworkers are diverse and provides a fresh outlook and a wealth of experience.

The organisation is the best work culture which is results oriented and does not focus on micro-management of staff.

Most employees work as virtual office workers which allows for a lot of flexibility in the work home life balance. Travel is a strong requirement as most staff are spread across the Northern Hemisphere.
Pros
Great work culture
Cons
Limited growth

Lots of growth and advancement opportunity. BUT...
Growth opportunity occurs as result of continuous restructuring.
Ongoing transformation and business direction pivots seemingly daily, but more likely monthly.

Very difficult culture to achieve business results.

Company is loaded with very bright and dedicated, hard working employees and even some managers but leadership waffles, is indecisive and is clearly focused on survival, which naturally creates a culture with no consideration for talent or retention.
Pros
Interesting work
Cons
Silos
