Control Systems Engineer (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 8 August 2018
I worked here when I graduated school and was lucky enough to be placed in a team of individuals that had a knack for mentoring. Although the knowledge acquired was valuable, the pay was substantially lower than the industry average. No raises, just pay cuts. Hours were flexible, nice folks all round. Majority of seniors were not interested in training juniors and management promoted a narrow scope of work for people, hoping to maximize efficiency at the cost of employee development. Because of this, it was difficult to find people that could do the different disciplines of controls engineering such as electrical and programming. More often than not, it had people that were good in one area but lacked knowledge in another, resulting in poor communication and team work.
