Poor management

Where to begin; Poor Communication, Management,Unrealistic Goals, Lack of support, Resources, Poor Leadership, Lack of Equality, inclusion and diversity. This location manufactures high scale amounts of cannabis product. It would be highly appropriate and beneficial to elect Managers to oversee each department opposed to having one responsible for numerous. Implementing a change like this would create a more positive and supportive workplace for all employees while ensuring all aspects of each departments reaching their full potential.

Avoid at all costs, this is an organization that is in the slow lane to bankruptcy.

Avoid at all costs, this is an organization that is in the slow lane to bankruptcy. Management is terrible and always has been. Culture was good in the beginning until the high wore off then the mass layoffs and closures would never end. Employee loyalty means nothing and you will be discarded at the earliest convience.

Pros

None anymore

Cons

Everything, as I said slow lane to bankruptcy

Stressful and lots of drama

Working at aurora is definitely a different experience, in the processing department you don’t just trim buds all day, you could be sent to various different areas of the department which are all very physically demanding, management is not the best and they are constantly changing things, every week is different and there is no consistency in the way we do things which can be very frustrating, the pay isn’t terrible but could definitely be better, the benefits are pretty good but pricey, the best part of aurora is the friends I made who are basically family now and are the only reason why I haven’t quit yet.

Not a good place anymore

Toxic management, no job security, good benefits and decent pay, no direction from upper management, you do others work because not everyone is pulling their weight, very good medical cannabis benefits, no training nor mentoring/coaching provided.

Lack of support from management

Not much for job satisfaction, dishonesty at the higher management level. Broken promises and let downs at every level. Lack of feedback and communication regarding the company status and plans for future endeavors.

Basically if you needed to show a description of h e l l to someone you’d tell them to work for Aurora Cannabis

This place is awful there’s not enough space in this text box or enough time on this earth to sit here and list the horrible things this company has done to so many people! They treat their staff like disposable garbage! Pathetic manipulative management, the only way people got promoted was if they slept with someone it was ridiculous! Anyways save yourself and your time and just stay far away from this S H I T hole

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Everything

The people who work their make it worth while to work at Aurora.

It's a very fast past environment as it is a NEW business in Canada (Cannabis production; Medicinal & Recreational). Has frequent job role changes, as it also offers many job advancements in it's wake; sadly though responsibilities & your job are not as secured as most people are accustomed to having. Once this industry becomes less volatile, so will the job titles.

Run

If they hire you, they will lay you off 2 months later. The executives are all liars and don't share anything with lower level employees. This would be fine if they didn't keep doing mass layoffs every 3 months. Don't waste your time applying. It's not worth it.

Executives do not value retaining talent but would rather cut talent to chase profitability and keep employees in the dark.

A typical day involved up keep with almost 100 emails a day. invoicing on two different sales streams. And a lot of spoon feeding information via dashboards and PDF's.Good small teams to work with, but there is no cohesion between departments and an even larger disconnect from executives to non-executive employees. Overall, the company had a good approach to covid with a work from home template and covid leave. Other than that the company has continuously let it's employees down by saying one thing and doing another.

Pros

Work from home

Cons

lack of leadership cascades down from the executive team.

Fun while it lasts

The people are truly what make Aurora a good company. On the production level, management is supportive and the workplace culture is positive. The pay is better than anything else in the industry and the benefits are amazing. Unfortunately constant facility closures and lay-offs make this a bad company if you're looking for long-term security. It's a shame because I really enjoyed my 4 years here and learned a lot about cannabis and horticulture in general.

Pros

Free cannabis for medical patients

Cons

Constant lay-offs

A Sinking Ship With Too Many Captains

The executive team is effectively managed by the CFO, who is the only original leader that is still in charge. This person has led Aurora further and further downhill with awful business decisions and excessive staff cuts. The culture was great years ago. Now it's a shell of its former self. Do not, under any circumstances, think about working here.

Fun coworkers, bad management

Great and positive environment from the coworkers and flexible shifts. The problem is this workplace has bad management, wonder why people are leaving this workplace. If you're not close or partying with the supervisors/team leaders, there's nothing there for you.If asked for more people in a certain room/department, you are the one being selected over and over again, because they want to work with certain people, No equality there just favoritism from the team leaders. Most supervisors are nice people but some turn to treat workers like little children, shouting or telling them where to sit or not. It is mentally exhausting and that's why I had to leave this company!

Pros

Great Coworkers

Cons

Very Bad Management

A company that does not like thinkers

The management within this company does not like to listen. When new information is presented through well organized and presented factual evidence, it is routinely brushed aside in favour of reaching unattainable goals that do not have any tangibility or relevancy to the floor and on-site operations.

Maintenance

This company will be used in future school programs on how NOT to run a business. They closed down Edmonton plant and within 4 days hired 4 new VP'S. tell me how that works. The CRA needs to see all the books. Management does not care the company is failing
