Family Support Worker (Former Employee) – Burnaby, BC – 9 April 2017
I really enjoyed working with the youth and their children for the most part. However the management was awful and treated staff very poorly. The shifts at the youth house were 12.5 hours which was nice. If you work graveyard all you do is clean and do baby checks. Working during the day you take youth to Apts and run errands if necessary. The youth don't usually want to be there so they sometimes try to start drama with staff. Management does not usually have your back either. The head office on the other hand is an awesome environment and everyone is super nice and helpful. Had I worked in the head office I would have stayed. They pay isn't great but what can you expect for a non profit job. Benefits are decent. It can be an ok environment if you can get on the management's good side. You mainly work by yourself which is also nice.
