Making a Positive Impact: Careers at Atria

Atria employees enjoy rewards and incentives that set us apart in the senior living industry. But having the opportunity to serve the remarkable people who call us home is a benefit all its own.

Helping older adults live better – and helping their families find peace of mind – is fulfilling on many levels, and it's a big reason why so many Atria employees describe their jobs as part career, part calling.

Our employees often tell us their greatest job satisfaction comes from the opportunity to serve and support older people. While we are accustomed to hearing this, it is something we do not take for granted.

Rewarding our employees and helping them grow personally and professionally is key to providing the best service to our residents.

  • A father’s guidance can shape a child’s life. Take Billie Jean King, our Well-Being Coach and 39-time Grand Slam tennis champion. From a young age, Billie Jean was encouraged by her dad to keep her eye on the ball, so to speak, and train hard. He believed in her potential, and the rest is literally history. How did your father inspire you?
  • He’s always ready with a joke to lighten the mood. He’s your shoulder to cry on. He taught you how to stand up for yourself. Atria communities nationwide are celebrating all that’s fantastic about the men we call fathers with a beautiful interactive art piece. So tell us: what makes your father fantastic?
  • Atria Kinghaven resident Ken W. is passing on his love of art, the importance of thoughtfulness and this expression of genuine affection to Liam and Santos, students at Richard C. Hedke Elementary School. Life at Atria provides Ken ample opportunities to connect and be a positive influence on the next generation. #PeopleBelongTogether #FantasticFathers
  • Work perk: Making friends with residents who become like family. Barbara, a receptionist at Atria Briarcliff Manor, has formed a close connection with Lillian, who is 103 years old. The two women laugh and talk regularly. In fact, they’re so close that Lillian encourages Barbara to refer to her as “Grandma.” Both say they’re lucky to have each other in their lives. #peoplebelongtogether
