Fair Place to Work
Even though it was a bad time to work when I did for AECL, I can appreciate what the company has to offer. They have good jobs with good management. AECL treats everyone well; more than fairly. I was one of the first to work on the Nuclear Refurbishment Project (i.e.- MCR, Bruce Power). The project is very challenging, the biggest in Canadian history. Thus, I give management credit for finishing the project.

Professional career in rural setting
At Chalk River labs you can have a great and well paid career and live at small town prices. The nuclear industry has seen some sag. But the environmental remediation mission is going strong. Great space in decommissioning.

Excellent company, except for the Union involvement
As a company to work for, it was excellent. Just knowing that they were the owners of the Candu technology was an incentive to be there. the Union involvement made everything go too slow and it was one of the reasons for its sale.
