What is the most stressful part about working at Ashley HomeStore Canada - The Dufresne Group?
It is a very dramatic work place everyone is out for themselves and there is is a lot of people that talk behind your back. You will get a screaming customer on the phone that wants a manager and the manager tells you no you need to deal with it or they say take a message I'll call them back and they never do. The front desk staff is supposed to do everything for the sales team and when the sales team make mistakes and continue to make mistakes they aren't help accountable. Sales team are held to a different standard then front desk. Sales team is not trained properly. It is not a flexible work environment, You do not get paid well. I do not recommend working here.
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Ashley HomeStore Canada - The Dufresne Group a better place to work?
Invest in your people, trust your workers especially ground management who works day in day out to turn a profit for the Organization and it’s share holders. They have lost some amazing managers and regionals and directors just because the executive team(who by the way don’t get along with each other at head office, have no co-ordination and are always passing the buck to each other, just so they can be glorified infront of the share holders), does not trust their leaders. All one heard was that the company was losing money, sell the company if you cant run it.. Or start investing and trusting in your people, maybe that would be the turning point for the loss consuming company?! Importing executives to run the organization will only hurt the company further and won’t bring in any success, if someone is claiming otherwise it’s all an eye wash as sales are spiking post Covid-19 for all organizations including Ashley global ($400 Million plus in sales compared to previous year).. More talent will be exiting the organization in the coming weeks/months... The share holders need to open their eyes and dig in deep to understand what exactly is happening. This business is not complicated at all, but these imported executive and highly paid executives are complicating the business by bringing in new processes every now and then, which only benefit them as it keeps them relevant in their roles. The ground teams are sick and tired of this circus, they all get further stressed and less engaged. The share holders need to open their eyes and get a pulse of their company at ground level, otherwise the future ain’t looking bright at all for this franchise.
