Garbage company that takes advantage of its employees
Sales Representative (Current Employee) - Manitoba - 19 May 2023
Promises of big pay checks but 90% of the team is living on minimum wage. They refused to accommodate my religious needs and I was forced to missed my prayer time on multiple occasions.
Cons
You’ll work every holiday. Only day off is Christmas

Toxic environment
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Windsor, ON - 6 May 2023
No one respects each other or management. They steal each other’s sales and lie about it. I’ve tried to keep my head down. Once I said something, management and HR did nothing. Micromanaged to the point where staff were stressed out and fighting. They want us to be robots. Sad situation. I loved my job but not the environment. Unfortunately I felt forced to quit because HR or Ashley’s doesn’t make it a safe environment to work in. Toxic work environment.

Terrible place to work definitely don't recommend
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 22 April 2023
No room for any salary advancement due to a landing percentage system that is basically designed so you never make your "quota" to make a salary advancement

Cons

This company needs to hire managers who actually have experience and professionalism instead of enforcers..their pay structure is 100% commission..so that should pretty much explains how poor they are

Not a fan
Selling sales Manager (Former Employee) - Scarborough, ON - 1 April 2023
Wasn’t a fan, overworked, company structure was messy, expectation is that you’ll work any and all hours for little to no compensation. Your top sales people are making way more than you are.

Horrible place to work
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Burlington, ON - 24 March 2023
Low pay, bad management, who steal your commissions and unbelievable pressure and micro managing. Sales associates are on commission only but you are expected to clean store for hours each shift. When you do sell most of your sales commissions get stolen from managers or head office vultures. If you like owing money on draw it great. My advice ...stay way clear!!!!

Micromanage
Sales Manager (Current Employee) - Richmond Hill, ON - 19 March 2023
You are micromanaged to the smallest particle, with absolutely little or no pay, bad commission structure and harassment. Employee turnover is too much.
Pros
Employee discount
Cons
Long hours, less pay, every day new responsibilities, out of scope responsibilities micromanaging

High Demand, Low Training
Administrator (Former Employee) - Medicine Hat, AB - 18 January 2023
Sales people on the floor were great for the most part. Sales Lead was amazing and friendly. Front end manager had a poor attitude, said to call if you ever needed help, but never answered the phone and then complained when their lack of training didnt get the job done. Attitude from higher ups needs work.
Pros
Sales People were Great, Mostly Quiet in Store
Cons
Management Lacked Leadership Qualities

Everything about the job is great, except for upper management
Porter (Former Employee) - Vernon, BC - 11 December 2022
The work at my store was great and the other staff and management were awesome to work with, and felt like actual people unlike TDG. This new company that purchased ours is god awful and simply do not know what they're doing. Lack of communication and actual understanding between the store and upper management is very prevalent, and a number of locations are hemmoraghing staff because of it. If you don't have a robotic corporate mindset, then your as good as gone.
Pros
Staff and direct management are great, work is straightforward and entertaining
Cons
Corporate has no idea how to run a company and do not care about the people in their stores

Selling sales manager (Current Employee) - Windsor, ON - 15 November 2022

Toxic , stay away
Guest (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 8 November 2022
Interview process should’ve been a red flag from the get go .. you get hired on the spot “ we are family “ - run !!! Management is toxic and manipulative. If you are a good worker , be ready to handle unbearable workload. Favouritism, everyone is depressed and overworked. Be prepared to be micromanaged non-stop. Poor ethical values overall. I aged 20 years in 1 year working there. Training is a joke . One of the absolute worst places I’ve ever worked at.
Pros
Ok benefits
Cons
Toxic managers, toxic culture, angry customers, lots of stress

No fun at all.
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Richmond Hill, ON - 6 November 2022
I have very bad experience with this group. Without minimum payment and a lot of salesperson in all stores means you have to work as free . It’s not fair for employees.
Cons
Work on weekend and no wage

Great Place To Work
Sales Associate (Current Employee) - Medicine Hat, AB - 26 September 2022
A really great place to work. The culture is pretty good. A little too competitive with senior staff but all around, a great place to work. I actually like going to work everyday.

Stressful, fast paced and miserable but good pay
Customer Service Agent (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 1 September 2022
Nothing to praise about this company, the only good thing is the pay is good. This company always is experimenting different ways to make things easy but ends up making lives hard for their employees. Lazy employees get lazy work and hard working employees are thrown to serving customers who are always calling in angry and escalated. Basically this is all because of their furniture policies, which itself is a different story. Please read that too. All employees are paid same but some get the easy work. No form of rotational system that they follow. Management is a joke. No manager will speak to a customer. All all they care is who has the excellent stats and how can they can not care about employee lives. I wish I had something good, I could say about this company. I will say the benefits are good, but not everything. They only give you 3 paid days for a year, count them as sick/personal days and they do not allow any unpaid personal/sick leave if you are out of those 3 paid days for a year. You can have a day off with doctor’s note though. Don’t even know how can HR allow something like this. You do get paid vacation that you can earn same as any other places though.
Pros
Good pay, Free parking, work from home opportunity
Cons
Stressful, fast-paced environment, No job advancement

Only people and co workers are the best other than this it was not the good experience
Sales Manager (Current Employee) - Calgary, AB - 16 August 2022
People have really good personality The commission pay is horrible The stress and over load of work is un incredible and not matching the pay Opportunity to grow is almost nil as they don’t give opportunities for people inside the structure because they don’t want the business to be affected.you’ll be stuck where you are doing extra work and extra hours without fair pay

Too many broken promises
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) - Red Deer, AB - 10 August 2022
Constantly have do deal with unhappy customers that were given the wrong delivery date promised by sales people. I would still be working there if it weren't for the fact I never received proper training as the person training me would always leave early. I could no longer keep up with the work load given to me, so I had to leave the job
Pros
free donuts on paydays
Cons
Not properly trained
