Health, Safety & Sustainability Manager (Current Employee) – Burnaby, BC – 23 August 2018
Recent changes at the top US/global level seems to have moved US/CAN business unit on the right track after 3 rough years. At the local bakery level, capacity has been overgrown. A good problem to have but a challenge at every level for the past couple years. Management team is good, passionate, engaged, willing to take this bakery to the next level. It is a unionized environment and a challenge on a regular basis. Good learning experience. A place where you can take your own opportunity.
Free food, good benefit
Work / Life balance is a challenge. Company did not pay bonus since I started there.
Operator (Current Employee) – Brantford, ON – 30 August 2018
Worst job I've ever had. Management treat you like garbage. Supervisors all sit together and make fun of other workers. Supervisors also just sit and watch youtube all night and never come to the line to help out.the only reason why I am still working here is the money.
When you get to go home after your shift
Supervisors don't care, Management treat you like garbage, no respect from anybody
Production Operator (Current Employee) – Burnaby, BC – 17 July 2018
i enjoyed working there, good people , multi cultural place, mostly chines ethnic, sometimes difficult to understand, you will get plenty of work, but there is jealousy going on between management. overall i would still go back there if i had too. i learned alot.
Machine Operator/Labourer (Former Employee) – Hamilton, ON – 26 April 2018
A typical day at work would consist of preparing and organizing for production. Must have great communication skills and work well with others. Very repetitive work including heavy lifting, walking, bending, pushing etc. Great place to work to earn good money. Just be prepared to work 12 hour shifts.
Mixer Operator (Former Employee) – Ancaster, ON – 26 January 2018
If you wanna work like a slave and stay a general labourer for years after years this is the place. They are all racist kurds and you have to be one of them to move up to an operator or lead hand. Good pay and overtime but terrible managers and no respect for anyone. When you have a problem you talk to the manager they laugh at you with the supervisors to your face (their cousins) terrible terrible place
Production Operator/Packaging Operator (Former Employee) – Brantford, ON – 15 January 2018
This was a decent place to work when I started years ago, now it’s more or less terrible with the exception of the odd awesome person to work with. There’s a lot of new employees and for the most part are clueless about how to do their job. The training is terrible so it’s more or less at no fault of their own. They have new people training new people that still don’t know their job. All employees that have been there long term have a terrible attitude. The equipment is as old as the factory and things break down all the time. They never actually replace anything, just put temporary bandaids on them. The work you do isn’t appreciated whatsoever. You can go above and beyond and they don’t notice but if you make one small mistake it’s the end of the world. Most of the supervisors and team leads were decent but when it comes to upper management all they care about is themselves and their bonuses, you’re just a replaceable number. The continental shifts are 50/50, long hours that can really drag but a lot of days off in return. The only real bonus to this job is it does pay quite well. To be honest the pay isn’t worth the headache. Stay away from this place if you like your sanity...
Production Worker (Summer Position) (Former Employee) – Brantford, ON – 17 December 2017
this was a great place to work, your coworkers were fun and friendly and your supervisors were down to earth and very understanding. i was hired through a temp agency for a summer position. I had a lot of fun here and met a lot of great people making it a wonderful experience and pleasant place to work. I did 12 hour rotating shifts with 3 breaks throughout the shifts. honestly you couldn't ask for a better company to work for, they treat their employees great, they buy lunch for you on holidays if your working and they have all the tims coffee you could drink! the lunch room has a tv, computers and all the essentials for the kitchen to feel like home. They allow you to explore new areas and you constantly have the chance to learn new things.
great environment, explore new opportunities to learn and gain new skills, rotating shifts allows for more time off
Manager (Former Employee) – Ancaster, ON – 15 December 2017
Expected to be available 24/7 with no regard for personal life. Management treats stall with no respect and fosters a of bulling and ridicule. Staff treats temp workers like second class citizens and changes there schedule frequently with little notice or thought. Hardest part of job is dealing with the constant berating from plant leadership who are inadequately skilled to hold these positions.
Shift engineer/ Millwright (Former Employee) – Burnaby, BC – 3 October 2017
The job was self rewarding as far as building good relationships. Keeping the place running. Downfall was day to day operations were not scheduled properly. Working alone with not enough staff on shifts was a safety issue.
Temporary Worker (Former Employee) – Brantford, ON – 14 September 2017
All you are doing here is packaging food. And that is it really. I was in high school when I worked for them however the people there are kind. Everything is peaceful although that is not taking in account of the person that you are working with.
