It really depends who you’re working with. At my store, most of the girls are super nice.. including the manager, so then the shifts can go smoothly and be fun even if it’s super busy or you have difficult customers. But, if you’re working with any of the snobby, superior girls.. then your shifts will be brutal and not tolerable. From being snapped at for something as minor as folding something the wrong way.. or being told you’re annoying, etc. Lots of talking behind other girls backs.. just a bunch of stuff that isn’t ok in my opinion specially when it’s from the “manager on duty” ie a keyholder or whatever title.
It's a really stressful environment, you're always being observed by the manager and all the pressure to perform is not worth it considering the poor salary.

Its retail, there is nothing glorious about it, your team should be your family, your customers are the reason you have headaches, your managment should be one of you, not bossing you. I think that its more for younger people and that its a bit dramatic at times... but at the end of the day you are your own person so patience is also key!

If you work with the right girls, the environment is really fun and your shifts don't even feel like work. I love working with customers and Ardene really let me make some great customer connections and experiences.
