Strong CEO, Departments not aligned w/Goals, Sales and Engineering fight regularly
Inside Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Sunnyvale, CA19 March 2018
The company as a whole continues to function though each department seems to operate individually and points at others for .

For sales specifically the day was relatively normal. Come in, open salesforce, make calls, send emails, and have to endure meetings (majority of them pointless -- other than to rally the troops).

I learned always show your value, always ask for input and assessment. Also always be interviewing, not necessarily with other companies but for the next role. Finally, whomever the manager at the time is will produce and enforce a policy whether or not it makes sense.

Executive management (CEO) was great, honest, and supported his decisions. He also would be forthright with his opinions in facts based performance reviews. Sales management was changed a total of 4 times over the course of my employment its final iteration managed the California team remotely, what was supposed to be inferred but not explicitly stated was that continued employment on the sale side was going to be based on relocation to Minnesota, where the Director of Sales and Inside Sales Manager reside.

Workplace culture began great and ended less than satisfactorily in my opinion. Lack of job security like a startup but a lot of corporate policy like a Fortune 500. There is a lot of politics involved with decision making and finger pointing when things go awry.

Hardest part of the job was being managed by someone who needed their hand held and was more comfortable scrapping a veteran sales team in favor of a cheaper alternative that had to be retrained. Also the opportunity
more... of advancement was phrased as unattainable, then a new hire for a role that was "not being actively sought out" would show up. Communication was rarely helpful and left a lot of questions unanswered, i.e. "thats just how it is" or "this is how things are now".

The most enjoyable part was the celebration of success, it was the only time where one would feel valuable.
