Supervisor (Current Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 23 May 2019
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedEver since we change manager, work shift decreases, super strict rules were implemented and there is no consideration anymore. Unlike before where that even i have complicated schedule with school, I can get at least 20 hours bi-weekly.
Pros
good relationship with co-workers
Cons
not enough hours

Fun place to work
Cashier (Former Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 20 July 2021
I would start at 8 am by baking potatoes, getting the restaurant ready for the day ahead, I learned how to become an assistant manager, the hardest part of the job was standing for 8 hours, and the most enjoyable part of the job was all my great co-workers.
Cons
Long hours

Server (Current Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 22 May 2020
Sometime it's busy and sometime slow. But I learn lots of things while working there. I learn management skills. I manage staff during my shift. There is nothing that I found hard while working with them.

with the new management and with my high rate of 18.99, I was not given hour.
Assistant Manager (Former Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 1 February 2020
Since day 1, I worked in Arby's I am already a supervisor working night shift for the longest time since no one wants the evening shift. But being a temporary foreign worker I only have the minimum wage of 11.65 but I do have 50 plus hours to have at least a supervisor salary. Then before the manager they chose was terminated he make my salary 18.99 and gave me an assistant manager title but the new manager doesn't like it so I get only 22 hours in a week because of that rate even I am a full timer. I just resigned because even I already talked to him and promise to give me at least 35 hours per week it never happen, it is just implying that he don't want me anymore. The owner doesn't even care even if I don't even have any benefits in that company I worked for 7 years and have been there running the store for 3 years without a manager. I just felt so used and never been acknowledge by the owners.

comforting environment, safe and fun workplace
CREW (CASHIER, DRIVE THRU, RUNNER) (Former Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 21 December 2018
as a cashier, giving the best customer service is a must. it is hard to deal with customers that is going to blame me or get mad for things that I do no control like the pricing, portioning of the food, etc. nonetheless, my workplace was safe and I felt like my coworkers always have my back and would help me out anytime im having trouble dealing with problems in the store.

Fun and enjoyable environment
Food Service Attendant (Current Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 13 November 2018
Working in a fast paced environment is tiring and fun at the same. During busy hours we need to reach the target time that we needed and also reach a desired quality of the product. Even though its busy we still have time to laugh of everyone joke to ease the busy day. We also learn to work as a team to make the work much faster. The management was also accommodating especially to our schedule.
Pros
Free lunch and fun workmates
Cons
no benefits

Nice Experience
Supervisor (Former Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 28 February 2018
This was my first job. They trained me and helped nurture my customer service skills. They also shaped me into the employee I am today. They also had a great outlook on customer service responsibility.

wonderful place and people to work with
Supervisor/Manager (Former Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 9 February 2018
I learned a lot about customer service and how the typical day starts at a restaurant from opening to closing. The lunch hours and supper hours were very stressful and always go go go to get customers orders made and packaged for them in less then a minute. Making our customers happy was always number 1. My co-workers and I made a great team and thrived to be successful and always helped each other out when we ourselves were not busy attending to customers.
Pros
free lunches
Cons
salary

arbys was fun
Shift Manager (Former Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 1 October 2014
Arbys was a very busy and competitve for drive thru times that iv'e seen besides Tim Horton. I learned so much about keeping evrything sanitized and organized as well as saving all data of inventory and what was used during the day and comparing it with our daily sales of all menu items and at the end of the day we would know if we were short on for example beef or chicken strips because we kept count of all our wastes and count of all our sales. it was very important to weigh anything else that couldn't be counted so we would be able to keep track of our fries ect.. i learned alot about computers working there.
Pros
how fast the time went by
Cons
working very late and closing with just two of us.

Only good as a first job
Cashier (Former Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 19 March 2014
I would recommend working at Arby's to gain experience in the service industry, but not as a full-time job. I was never given a raise while working there (you are started at minimum wage), and my boss - the general manager - was very unpleasant. Working at a drive-through is also difficult, as you are not interacting directly with the customer. The hours make sense for a student and are flexible, though.
