Growing and Successful
Regional Sales Manager (Former Employee) –  Fort Mill, SC8 October 2018
Arauco is a successful and growing company. Accompanying Arauco's growth however are growing pains. Arauco continues to layer in more and more products programs and responsibilities without adding additional sales support or sales staff. Arauco has added HR, accounting and other staff but Sales personnel has remained constant even with the construction of a $450MM plant in Michigan. Overall Sales Management is good but overworked, especially in light of the sales demand created by a new mill. Arauco products are quality products. Customer Service is good but could also use additional support. Marketing is up to the task with all products.
Pros
Freedom to manage responsibilities as necessary. Trusted to get the job done and not micromanaged.
Cons
Reactive and not proactive.

Good Ole Boy system
Storeroom Manager (Former Employee) –  Malvern, AR18 September 2018
That pretty much says it all. Management does not care about policy or procedures, do it our way. Salary management is not appreciated my senior management and there is absolutely 0 job security if you are in management. I saw the entire management turnover in 2 years. The environment is dog eat dog, if someone does not like you they will cuss you and treat you like garbage, and will do everything they can to get you fired. Take it what it’s worth... this is what I saw in my two years with the company.

Horrible place to work.....
Production (Former Employee) –  Albany, OR17 July 2018
Especially if you are a little older and get stuck on night shift! You work 72 hours one week and 12 the next. Impossible to adjust to that. From what I saw while I was there is that only the younger people and rock stars get to go to day shift. Nothing is based on seniority which is very unfair to so many who stay there and commit themselves to this company!
Pros
Pay and Benefits
Cons
Just about everything else!

Management just have a lot going on, plus they need to change there system of reviewing who gets fired or not. Again great people to be around, just small adjustments need to be made.

Ignorant people that treat each other like garbage
Employee (Former Employee) –  Albany, OR12 March 2018
No leadership at all! Everyone is bossy. If you ask a question about what the rules are, there will be a different answer from every person you ask. People treat their co-workers poorly, and nothing is done about it. They try to make you skip your breaks also.
Pros
Good benefits package
Cons
You will hate your life if you work here

If you don’t mind being under appreciated whether you care or not
Lead rework specialist (Former Employee) –  Moncure, NC26 January 2018
I actually really enjoyed my job there. Mainly because you only had to deal with management 5 days a month. The rest of the time you worked nights or you were off. Most people thought I lived there because I would work almost every day because there was always something to do and they didn’t mind.
Pros
Unlimited over time
Cons
The more useless you are the longer you will work there!!

If you enjoy long hours and poor management, this place is for you.
Technician (Former Employee) –  Bennettsville, SC7 January 2018
Management does not respect employees or value input. Work hours are too long with swing shifts... your body can never adjust in a healthy manner. Most co-workers are good people but there are some that just want to work the system.
Pros
Ok pay
Cons
Poor management

No clear management or work/life balance
Dispatcher (Former Employee) –  Fort Mill, SC24 July 2017
Constant changing and contradictory instructions given by management on expected job requirements. No training several software systems that didn't work and created double data entry for employees. No management with NO team atmosphere and long work hours. Company provides laptop/cell phone you are on call 24-7 but they will tell you different when hired. Constant turnover in every department including HR....Unfortunate could be a great place to work.
Pros
Met some very nice coworkers and customers.
Cons
Hostile environment with no clear direction or support.

Arauco's Work Environmen
EDI Analyst (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GA23 October 2016
Great company to work for where upper management encourage employee empowerment. Pod type areas of work space to encourage cross functional work environments. The disadvantage would be the lack of corporate training on SAP and learning Spanish since they are South American.
Pros
Great Wellness Plan and Free Gym membership from onsite gym
Cons
It is a South American own company and the NA Corporate Office does not teach spanish
