Toxic environment, horrible place to work
Work here if you want to be in constant fear for your job. Management controls staff through bullying and disciplinary actions. High stress where everyone is looking over their shoulder.Company preaches mental health and well being without showing any care for your actual mental health. Management is quick to congratulate themselves on a job well done without actually accomplishing anything. They are more concerned about the bottom line instead of quality of work.

Toxic work environment
Fit in with the cliques, if not, work life will be terrible. Management will believe the backbiters and dislike you just as much as they do. Tend to overly self congratulate themselves for having a healthy work environment but don’t do anything to support staff who are being mistreated. The staff who don’t participate in the toxic behaviour would not lift a finger or their voice to help either. Competitive atmosphere brings out something nasty in some of the staff. Amazing how a nasty soul can manipulate and maneuver co-workers to treat other staff that way and get props for being a helpful and hard worker.

Like working for a dictator
Mediocre wages, good benefit package, management create new rules to suit themselves, have to keep looking behind your back to see if management or their pets are spying on you, worked there for 13 years, the last 2 were very stressful as it seemed like management was trying to get rid of the old guard and they did succeed. The only perks are the benefit package and a couple of other taxable handouts, they also have a small rrsp match.

Progressive and innovative company
Aquatera gave me the ability to be a pioneer by pursuing multiple directions to advance the company's direction, culture and business growth. They company provided resources and freedom to achieve quick solutions and follow them through to completion. With a great team of managers and staff it was a great place to work and a joy to be a leader in this company. The hardest part of the job was overcoming the outdated municipal culture that the company had inherited and replace it with a more entrepreneurial culture. Seeing individuals grow and flourish under my leadership was the most rewarding part of my job. Seeing them continue to succeed is very satisfying.
