Growth company, with merit based recognition in a mature industry.
Project Manager (Current Employee) - Maple, ON - 5 February 2023
Aquatech Dewatering is a forward-thinking organization in a stagnant industry. Workdays can be long because the company manages water for the construction industry and often does emergency work, so expectations can be high. The company shares both success and responsibility for mistakes with employees in a pretty unforgiving industry. The coworkers are great, and the culture is tight-knit. The best part of the job is working outside, in a fast passed culture where everyone counts on everyone else to get things done. his juxtaposition

Productive, challenging, growth opportunities, great team atmosphere
Supervisor (Current Employee) - Vaughan, ON - 4 February 2023
Aquatech has a constant growth, goal and objective oriented environment and philosophy. Professional, but not rigid, and very inviting for staff to provide input, put ideas forward, encourages and rewards take initiative philosophy. Also staff are like family and friends, and owners really do treat staff, especially long standing staff, like family, especially when they need assistance.
Pros
Very rewarding for people that want growth and take initiative
Cons
You need to be dedicated to and love growth

Great when work is there and available, split work ethics due to union an no union staff
Mechanical Technician (Former Employee) - Ottawa, ON - 13 January 2023
You start off great and it's all smiles when you start, there's no structure no chain of command usually you have to figure it out yourself, Senior Management say they had zero training so you get the same, working life balance is poor keep your eye on your paycheck. Toronto branch is great place to work as it's all new . Stay away from ottawa branch. Company Lunches are great when you are there at all locations, Company runs old and failing equipment and it embarrassing. There is better dewatering companies to work for. Give it a go and try your luck.
Pros
Free lunch when provide, support from maple if you know the right person to speak too
Cons
Long hours at 50 per week no life balance, no support from managers or PM, 0 training given

the worst experience ever!!!
Dispatcher (Former Employee) - maple ontario - 18 October 2022
This company is really a joke in the corporation world.. in 2022 it's around to waste people's time.. I had 1 phone & 3 in person interviews. everything went great.. got the job with an offer letter and a start date. a few days before my given start date I got a call from the company, advising that one of the manger has change the job description and the company needs to rescind the offer.. be care not to waste your time in your job hunt and turn down good offers for this company..

stingy with wages, upper management doesn't care about you.
1) wages simply aren't competitive. they will low-ball you to start, and are stingy with raises. you have to fight and push and beg for raises, and then management will hold them against you if you ever get them. The company has greatly grown their business, but didn't pass anything down to the workers. gave no raises despite company growth of business, and inflation/cost of living being so high. 2) Toxic culture. If you don't put in extra hours for free, they'll call you a "clock-watcher" and say you aren't doing enough. Lots of trash-talk and complaining about people behind their backs, especially whether they are "pulling their weight". They'll expect you to skip your lunch break or stay late to "get the job done". employee morale is in the gutter and overall atmosphere is negative. 3) little to no job progression. Very rarely saw anyone get a promotion or significant raise. 4) very little appreciation or praise. management/supervisors are quick to chastise/criticize/micro-manage, but never show any appreciation or praise for a job well done. like to 'crack the whip' on the workers. lots of complaining that "nobody knows how to do their job" or "nobody wants to work anymore". only good thing about the workplace I can think of is that they ARE pretty open to hiring inexperienced people and young people willing to learn, and frequently hire inexperienced people and give them training. Unfortunately, the turnover rate is pretty high. benefits package was nice. employer-matched pension/RRSP, health and dental coverage, and a health savings account were all pretty decent.
Pros
hires inexperienced/young/new professionals. decent benefits.
Cons
low wages, negative environment

Management doesn’t want to pay you well and will fire you on a whim but workers are cool and fun to work with
Shop Technician (Current Employee) - Maple, ON - 21 June 2022
They lied in the interview, if you have your OIT, they cannot give you hours to progress to your class 1but they will say they can. Management will lowball you on pay and you wont get cost of living raises, you will be lucky if you get a dollar Management watches you on cameras pretty much all the time to make sure your working Workers are chill

Great Place to Work!
Project Administrator (Current Employee) - Maple, ON - 28 November 2019
Aquatech is truly a great place to work. You are challenged everyday and Managers and Executives, inclusive of the President and CEO truly care about the growth of every employee. Aquatech
has given me not just a job, but a career, and has helped me achieve more than I ever thought I could. It is honestly a great place to work and all staff truly support one another and you have a clear sense of purpose.

Hard, Repetitive. Room for advancment
Warehouse/Yard Technician (Former Employee) - Maple, ON - 17 October 2019
It is a good company in a competitive field. Hard work with a lot of potentially repetitive strain on the body. Required heavy lifting, multi tasking, and adhering to strict deadlines. The company also may suffer from erratic leadership from time to time. Despite the downsides, due to the nature of the work the company has a somewhat high turn around which means that they value loyalty. Room for advancement and generous pay increases as the company is very much growing.

Productive and Appreciate Employees
Engineer (Current Employee) - Vaughan, ON - 20 August 2019
I've never worked for a company that valued their employees as much as Aquatech does. The management understands that it is the actual worker performing the day to day routine and rightfully empowers each individual to enact positive change. When this empowerment occurs from the ground up, supported from the top down, it provides for continuous improvement on multiple levels, affording measurable gains to both the individual and enterprise as a whole!
Pros
You can work on different challenging tasks

Great Company to Work for
Project Manager (Current Employee) - Maple, ON - 21 May 2019
Aquatech has a great team that works together great and pulls different expertise together to create project solutions. The culture is great here especially since a lot of what we do is so unique in the industry. We have work events from Christmas parties to The learning process was quick especially since I came in with a background in the industry. Management has been great - very helpful and understanding as well. The work is very high-paced at times but that's also the most enjoyable part sometimes! Every job is different, and I deal with many accounts so it's a great opportunity for myself.

Excellent team environment & Professional atmosphere
Receptionist/Office Assistant (Current Employee) - Maple, ON - 16 May 2019
Almost in my third month working at Aquatech and I can honestly say this is a great company to work for. I enjoy coming to work everyday as all the employees are hardworking, motivated and work like a team. Everyone here is always willing to answer my questions and assist in any way they can. From my interview to my first day of work I have been welcomed here and I feel like I am part the Aquatech team. It is a busy office however employees are never to busy to say hello or ask if I need anything. Having worked in many companies, I can say that the Aquatech environment is one the most friendly motivating, and most personable. I am excited about my career at Aquatech and look forward to learning more about the company and what it has to offer!
Pros
Barbecues, parking, office events, location, team environment, welcoming atmosphere

Great safety culture, advancement and training.
Shop Supervisor and Field Mechanic (Current Employee) - Sudbury, ON - 16 May 2019
biggest focus is safety.
the shop, procedures, training, certifications and management
is truly focused on advancement to the safety culture of today's world.
management and owners are fantastic and have great vision.
if you are flexible to get the job done they are flexible to your life.
the most enjoyable thing about my position is meeting all the people on job sites,
getting the job done quickly and smoothly for them and the responses we receive when completed.
hardest part of the job, is something the company cant control
weather and environment.
it can get wet, cold, muddy, wild life etc.
you may have to travel long distances and be gone for a while.
for myself that isn't an issue because I am able to do so without causing life issues.
but the company understands and we are well taken care of.
I enjoy every moment of my employment at the Sudbury branch.
Pros
growth, safety, advancement, training, certifiction.
Cons
none
