American Income Life Employee Review

Good management, poor leads

They talk about warm leads & easy sales which is not at all true. You will get a lead pack , half of them are old and contacted multiple times. Rest half leads has no idea what they signed up for. People ask for a child safe kit online and end up being a lead in this insurance company.

Worth it

This company provides benefits I wish I had been offered when my children were young. The process of learning to get your insurance license and training to become proficient in the field is hard work, but definitely worth it. Not many jobs provide the income potential of this opportunity or the flexibility to set your own schedule. I really appreciate the mentoring and training, as well as the supportive family feeling of the office culture.

Pros

Helping others

Cons

Takes a while to get licensed and trained

If you like Sales, this is pretty good

It has quite a dynamic culture, receive lots of support from the people around you. However, sales is sales and it can be quite draining and there is always a high turnover

Very challenging but rewarding

This job changed my life, you really have to be ready to face a lot of your fears with this job when it comes to working strictly commission based salary and having uncomfortable conversations with people. You sell life insurance, which is hard to sell in and of itself but having to talk with people about their own mortality, financial impact of death on the family and what happens when someone gets seriously hurt in their family is HARD and VERY UNCOMFORTABLE to do. Although very hard to do. this is one the most important conversations you can have with a family period and if you can get over yourself and your own emotional inhibitions about doing it IT PAYS REALLY WELL and the benefits are great, full dental full coverage for prescriptions. There is a bit of a learning curve in the beginning where you don’t make any money so if you can’t cover you bills and live for a month without a pay check I wouldn’t start this job just yet. Great management, one of the best training platforms ever. I grew exponentially as a person and as a salesman at this company and the emotional fortitude required to be successful at this particular job really bleeds over into other areas of your life

Pros

Great commission and bonus structure

Cons

If you can’t set boundaries you won’t have a solid work life balance
