Great training but tough commision based structure

Don't go for it if you're not willing to invest the 1st year time and savings till your skills and sales curve start to pay off...very risky! training is great!

Pros

Training

Cons

Comission based

Not good

Not the best place to work. Multi Level marketing company with not too much good to say about.

Read before you work here!

I began my journey with AIL being told I would make 40-60k per year or more depending on how much work that you put into it. The job originally sounded appealing because they preach that you will have work/life balance and that "family comes first". I was looking to work for a company that has a family culture. However that is completely NOT the case. To rewind I had originally applied on a job recruiting website and was called a day or two later to schedule an interview. I showed up to the interview and was surprised to see that there were 20+ other candidates. They stated that they were running behind so I waited about 1 hour before sitting down with the person interviewing me. After the initial interview if they liked you they herd you into another room for a "competitive interview" which turned out to just be them telling you how awesome AIL is and how it will change your life and how the opportunity is endless. It was not an interview at all just the head manager of that office telling you how lucky you are to be "chosen" for the competitive interview, videos about the company basically brainwashing you into thinking you are stupid if you don't join. I ended up being there for about 3 hours and wasted a majority of my day sitting around waiting for the "next step". I ended up being chosen to move forward and was told that I would need to purchase a Life Insurance License (over $230) and had to complete it within 2 weeks or they would not pay for my Provincial exam (Over $100). I rushed to complete it and was told that during that time I also had to be present at the -

glad I took the chance

Applied to the company after seeing how well a family member was doing. I was skeptical at first, but now being a licensed agent and out in the field it all makes sense. It is not as easy as I thought it would be, it requires a lot of hard work, and especially at the beginning some fairly long hours. More importantly the people within the office, management and mentors make all the difference in the world and will help you succeed in any way they can.

Pros

Financial freedom, amazing culture, incredible mentors

Cons

Hard work, sometimes long hours

Worth it

This company provides benefits I wish I had been offered when my children were young. The process of learning to get your insurance license and training to become proficient in the field is hard work, but definitely worth it. Not many jobs provide the income potential of this opportunity or the flexibility to set your own schedule. I really appreciate the mentoring and training, as well as the supportive family feeling of the office culture.

Pros

Helping others

Cons

Takes a while to get licensed and trained

An Amazing Opportunity

I have worked with AIL for 3.5 years so far and came into this field completely new to the industry not having a clue about anything. My first year (23 years old) I made $105'907. This opportunity launched my life, put my family in a brand new home, brand new car, etc.. This career allowed me to grow so much as an individual by pushing me to be better and do better. You can go from 0 to 100 real quick in this industry as long as you're coachable, have a strong work ethic, and actually put in the time to learn the tricks of the trade. One of the best things about this opportunity is that you work like a family and not as a boss/employee environment. Everyone is cheering for you and willing to put in as much time as need be to help you with whatever you need. What hooked me to this career was the residual income you build that you get paid on for life. Thank you for believing in me and giving me this opportunity AIL!

Pros

residual income for life, AMAZING income, freedom, flexible schedules, best people I've ever met

Cons

honestly, I don't have any as I am fully responsible for my business so any cons are cons on my own skill set, or mental paradigms

Amazing Experience.

The definitive nature of American Income Life is the motivating culture that resides throughout the company that establishes a positive, energetic, driven framework for individual and company success. What is most enticing part about working with AIL is the endless career advancement. Your income and promotions is performance based. The harder you work, the more you earn, the further your career advances. They provide you with all the necessary tools, training and resources you need in order to succeed; all you need to do is put in the effort. The culture in the London office is a rare breed of family and professionalism. Everyone is very close, yet maintains focus and works well as a team.

A great next career!

I was employed in the industrial sector for 35 years. I worked extremely hard, but was limited in how far I could go, based on a very competitive work environment. Compounded with daily stress of the work atmosphere, I was very much ready to retire and seek other opportunities. I am very excited about the opportunity and potential that AIL Edmonton is providing. The management is both supportive and positive! The team feels like family as everyone is there to support each other. Yes, you do have to work hard; but through hard work, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn / teach, the opportunity is truly unlimited. The products offered by the company are there to help families, and you feel good about delivering a product which provides this. Best of all, I can work under my own schedule. The company fully endorses you building your own team and provides lots of training to help you reach your goals. Excited about the potential with AIL Edmonton!

Pros

Positive work place with lots of opportunity!

Cons

Should work at least one day of the weekend, but you control your schedule.

Truly Amazing Opportunity

If you are the type of person that likes to get paid what you're worth, willing to work hard, and gain the skills you need to be successful in life, this is the perfect career for you. If you are looking for a 9-5, clock in clock out, hourly wage position to just do your "job", this isn't for you. This is a career that changed my life completely for the better. It has opened up doors I have never thought were possible. This is an opportunity to change your life and help change others' lives. I get to work with my best friends every single day and make a crazy amount of money doing it. Don't think twice, just do it!

Pros

Incredible people, fantastic money

Cons

Absolutely nothing

Amazing opportunity

Working at American Income is an opportunity unlike any other. You are given the opportunity to shape and mould your career for yourself and chose how quickly you advance and how much income you make. An excellent training program and support system of managers and mentors ensure that, even if you are new to the industry, you have all the tools and resources to be successful. This is not a job for everybody. With the amount of self-direction and schedule you need to be able to hold yourself to account for the amount of hard work and effort that you put into learning and executing the systems and processes. If you can’t hold yourself responsible for putting in an honest full day’s work, then you won’t be successful. The only limitations on your opportunity are those that you place on yourself.

Pros

Family atmosphere, flexible schedule, great pay, great product that helps and protects families

Cons

Schedule is also limited by availability of clients, at minimum some evening and weekends are required

Glad I had an open mind- great training and even better people!

I was skeptical when I first started with it being commission. What I found though was that the company has amazing mentors who genuinely want you to succeed as well as a proven training program. This helped me to be confident in my abilities to not only earn a stable and consistent income but allowed me to work harder and earn more then I ever had working a salaried position within my first year. The office has a people first, family dynamic. Everyone is there to help and encourage your personal and professional growth.

Pros

Freedom to build your work around your life instead of life around work

Cons

First year requires lots of discipline and an open mind

Persistence and hard work pays off

Amazing family culture. This company with the management team has helped me grow professionally and personally. Everyone helps you to reach your goals and dreams. Would recommend for anyone looking for flexible hours who is willing to work hard to achieve what they want in life.

Pros

Great work environment. Constant learning

Cons

Not for everyone, laziness and being comfortable won’t help you succeed

Amazing opportunity and environment

This career is amazing. The people are awesomely diversely weird...in an amazingly silly way. But that's just us having fun. We know how to be serious and know our jobs well. I love that we spend our days protecting families and making sure children are safe. Not only do we get to reach unlimited income potential doing what we love but we make friendships that last a long time as well.

Pros

Income, friendships, independence.

Cons

Have to stay accountable to yourself.

Truly "Opportunity Unlimted"

Lots of room for growth. No glass ceiling. Only promote from within the company. Rewarding career. Flexible schedule. Makes me feel great knowing that at the end of the day, more families are protected.

not bad, not great

definitely not what I signed up for. was told and thought that I was being hired into management but the structure of the company has everyone selling there product. if u leave your pride and conscience at the door and work hard....... really hard then you will be successful.

Pros

Cons

not great company structure

A good company

Good company if you can fit well into their culture. Roam for advancement. You have to be prepared to work long days for the first few months. Every office is also ran differently.

Pros

Good benefits and commission

Cons

Policies can be expensive

Great workplace with great people, very supportive.

Best workplace i’ve ever been in, amazing people that are always extremely supportive. Flexible hours with busy life, great opportunity for advancement. Type of career that you can retire after 10 years of work, and write your own paycheques based upon your own hard work. Couldn’t have found a better career, very happy I was lucky to be welcomed into the family at AIL.

Pros

Flexible hours, you decide the amount of money you want to make, achieve it, amazing people, constant support, many opportunities for advancement

Cons

Personally no cons i’ve seen in the entire year I’ve been here.

Productiver work activity

This was a term of co-op for me to experience cold calling and outside sales. This was an unpaid position which made my experience different from the rest. Non-the-less, it was a great learning curve for my overall work capability and stability within my relationships with co-workers.
