You are required to book appointment with clients and visit them. its like running your own personal business hence you incur running costs. you are allowed to work at your own pace.

Not a preferred place if you are family oriented

no work and family life balance. Need to work late hours to meet families and if lucky would end up with a sale. if not the workday is not fruitful.

Very sales driven environment

Purely commission-based job which was not disclosed at the beginning. However, people I worked with were great. They taught me a lot. Job is not easy just like any other sales job. However, if you are good at it you will be very well rewarded. It teaches you to set goals and achieve them and fight your laziness and emotions. Great to experience, but I don't think I would be able to do all my life.

Pros

Work at your own pace

Cons

No money security

sell life insurance for comission

American income sells life insurance to union members and families threw the child safe program. You are paid on 100% paid on commission and you must take a course to obtain a licence.

Didn't fit me

I felt I was misled with how pay structures worked. Didn't not fit into my life style. Start your day by calling prospective clients to arrange appointments. Drive to those appointments. Try to convince them to buy insurance. Leave.

Hard work and earn a lot

AIL is a life insurance company that provides benefits to Unions and its members. Upon confirmation, you become unionized. The job of a benefits advisor requires long hours of visiting leads provided by the company. It is a fast paced environment as you have to earn your pay. The job is 100% commission based and this is stated at the beginning so don't expect it to change.

Pros

Ability to earn more than the average worker beacuse you are provided leads

Cons

Long hours

No fun

The sales of Life Insurance is good but the working hours are very long, one has to work in office as well out doors visiting potential clients in their homes,it is a sort of six days job and lot of commuting to office as well as homes

Pros

Cons

Long hours
