Great place to work overall... great people!
Supervising Agent (Current Employee) - London, ON (Newbold) - 30 April 2019
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIt is app to use to make the work-life balance but implementing some good time management skills. The people there are amazing, the recognition from teammates and management is unsurpassed, the commission is some of the highest I've ever seen as well as yearly renewals. You definitely need to be organized, self-motivated, and eager to always learn.
Pros
Great culture, great pay, great people, opportunity to grow and advance is quickly as you want to as long as you do the work
Cons
Long hours, late night phone calls

Poor Management. Terrible leads and they'll cut you loose.
Field Representative for members of labour unions (Former Employee) - London, ON - 28 August 2019
Traboulay couldn't even book appointments on the phone, yet he expects you to land sales or he fires you.
They then hammer their clients multiple times per year to upsell them more.
Pros
None
Cons
Low pay scale, no security, Kills your car.

Not a great environment
Life Insurance Agent, Supervisor - Full Time (Former Employee) - London, ON - 21 August 2019
This revolves around how much you push insurance at families and how well you are trained to do so. Getting into people's houses with a free child safe kit/will kit and pushing them to decide right away. Then be ready for people to cancel & you have to pay back what you got paid
Pros
Got my life insurance license LLQP but that wasnt provided by the company
Cons
Awful management and huge amounts of wasted time

Amazing Experience.
Sales Representative (Current Employee) - London, ON - 24 April 2019
The definitive nature of American Income Life is the motivating culture that resides throughout the company that establishes a positive, energetic, driven framework for individual and company success.
What is most enticing part about working with AIL is the endless career advancement. Your income and promotions is performance based. The harder you work, the more you earn, the further your career advances. This company is the BIGGEST scam ever!
HR Manager (Former Employee) - London, ON - 12 April 2019
Please be careful with this company. They will pressure you into paying lots of money to take "courses" to sell life insurance. Its an actual joke. I worked in the office, and you were expected to cold call people and try to get them to apply for a job and basically manipulate them into sending over $500 to take a course. I honestly have no idea how they are still able to operate.
Pros
Unfortunately nothing
Cons
Its a scam.

Productiver work activity
Sales agent (Former Employee) - London, ON - 27 March 2019
This was a term of co-op for me to experience cold calling and outside sales. This was an unpaid position which made my experience different from the rest. Non-the-less, it was a great learning curve for my overall work capability and stability within my relationships with co-workers.

Dont do it
Licenced Life Insurance Agent (Former Employee) - London, ON - 18 December 2018
You are responsible for getting your own clients through referrals etc.
You have to follow a script that you are required to memorize and you take your laptop to all appointments to do a presentation.
You will get calls from your team leader to check up on you.
Commission pay
I spent more money on expenses such as food and gas than I made, and I was doing pretty well so...basically it is not worth it.
Pros
Get to know about life insurance
Cons
Spend more money on expenses than you make in commission

Not Fantastic - Sales
Licensed Life Insurance Sales Agent (Sales) (Former Employee) - London, ON - 7 November 2018
Long hours 6-7 days a week, traveled 2 hours each way to location given to cover. leads generated by company were lacking as we were trying to sell funeral benefits to people who already had adequate coverage being retired GM employees

Flexible working hours / Leadership
Life Insurance Agent, Supervisor - Full Time (Current Employee) - London, ON - 22 August 2018
Excellent Leadership Environment! Good Company!
Training is good, good platform to a millionaire because of great residual and renewal income. The commission and WGB (Bonus) structure is profound and amazing.

It's can be extremely long hours. Time commitment is great for single person with no little kids. They work with you to succeed. They give great advice. Hardest part of the job is losing evenings and weekends. Most enjoyable is the paycheque.
Pros
High Pay Potential

terrible
Agent (Former Employee) - London, ON - 2 February 2018
It's comparable dying a slow and very painful death. You bust your hump to suffer both financially and in your relationships (spouse/family/etc) all to never be home in hopes that you can clutch a dime from someone desperate for insurance.
Similar to setting your life and all you hold dear aflame for empty promises of greener grass.
Pros
your wife takes half of the debt accrued
Cons
all

Life Insurance Advisor (Current Employee) - London, ON - 7 November 2017
AIL is an amazing company to work with. The money is great, and the people are a level above that. Fantastic. On top of that, the experience you gain at this employment exceeds by far any that I have worked at before.

Work Hard, Earn Big
Supervising Agent (Current Employee) - London, ON - 5 July 2017
It is a great place for entrepreneurs and people who are willing to put the time in to be wealthy. The hours seem long in the beginning but you get used to it with proper time management. A typical day at work is calling clients, making appointments, and then going out to see them to show them the products we offer. It's a really easy job if you think about it. The culture is great. Management pushes you to be successful and your fellow associates are great competition. The most enjoyable and equally challenging part of the job is that its all in your hands. You make your own schedules so you are responsible for your own success. In some peoples hands, they are very successful but in others, not so much. Thats where management comes in. They help you be successful.
Pros
Encouraging management, high commission rates, feels great when you protect families, amazing training, flexible work schedule.
Cons
long hours to some.

Empty Promises
Life Insurance Agent (Current Employee) - London, ON - 15 July 2016
Promised many things, almost went bankrupt because of this job. Loved the people, not the politics.
I learned how to prioritize my jobs and organizing appointments for each customer.
