Reviews about Pay & benefits for Van Driver at Amazon DSP

You work on your own.

It's a tough job if your not fit and young. Long days and bad weather can be tough to work in. You are constantly getting in and out of your van every minute. The GPS system is terrible along with the whole FLEX system. It's trash!

Pros

Free water and paid incentives.

Cons

No healthcare!

Its okay.

If you get a great DSP (best boss I've ever had) like I did your time working there will pretty decent and would be a great temporary job as most people get burnt out after a while especially if their DSP (boss) is horrible. I started at $16 an hour and got a raise to $18 before I moved on to a new job.Work/home balance could have been better. I usually got off work around 6-7pm which only left me an hour with my kid each night. I worked 8 hour 5 day weeks (most other DSPs did 10 hour 4 days), and I was hard to get days off unless you found someone to trade shift with you or let the DSP know 3+ weeks in advance. Some days feel extremely laborious, but you do have to be extremely organized and efficient and you will be moving quick (sometimes running/jogging) for the whole shift.I loved that I could listen to music or podcasts all day and I was by myself. I just had a job/route to get done and that was it. Some days it was hard being alone, but most of the time I loved it. I swear if I didn't have podcasts to listen to it would have made the job a whole lot harder as it was.I worked for my DSP for 9 months, and I would have most certainly left very early on or found a new DSP to work for if my DSP was not fit to be in a leadership position. There are many DSPs out there that get angry at drivers, do not support their drivers, act as if they don't have have do anything while they get to pull in tons of money from their drivers busting their butts all day for them (and themselves). If you ever get a job working for a DSP and they are not caring toward their drivers, -

Pros

Steady, pay was okay, exercise, get to be alone

Cons

Pay should be minimum $19 an hour, DSP roulette, routes can be horrible, very laborious

Busy busy busy

Amazon is very disorganized and changes rules on the fly. We never have enough time to load and the app always requires an update. The downloads take FOREVER and the DSP managers are highly inequipped to handle the mayhem.

Pros

Fast paced, freedom on routes

Cons

No benefits, micro managed by idiots
