Tough Shifts Poorly Managed

Anyone above the Foreman level are too disconnected from the operations reality to be effective.
Safety department is a joke.
HR staff would never be employed anywhere but here because AltaSteel rewards management incompetence that would result in termination at any other company.
The President is a throw back to the 1940's. Beat staff for any problems and take ALL the credit for successes.
All the good managers have quit over the past 6-9 months because the upper managers run the place so poorly.

Most workers dont realize how good they have it here. Strong union, good pay, good benefits..no education required. Dangerous yes, also very old equipment. But good maintenance and electrical team to keep things running. Shift work, long hours but lots of days off.

Long hours, switch from days to nights constantly
