Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Micro-managed from the top. On-site management has no ability to make decisions or answer questions without direct input from owner of the company. Scheduling has a serious lack of urgency requiring you to change plans at short notice. Crews are scarce, and people are moved from departments while leaving certain areas short staffed. Local mid-management is only concerned with their personal achievements and do not collaborate as a team

Cons

Poor pay for the work expected; understaffed

Terrible wages and don’t listen to ideas from employees

Wages aren’t competitive to other similar jobs in the area/industry. Wage increases don’t even come close to keeping up with inflation. They add additional tasks onto employees until they burnout. Don’t hire enough staff to run the company smoothly and always expect all star exmployees to cover the slack with no extra compensation for their hard work and if they don’t they are criticized. Local management has no decision making power and have to ask the higher ups for approval.

Excellent work environment

Hands down one of the best jobs I ever had. I've seen many negative reviews but the job itself was very fun, fast paced, friendly coworkers and supervisors. Great if you are good at both team work and independent work. The main management could be a bit intense at times with their employees but all in all I give this company a solid 7/10. I will miss this job.

Pros

Friendly work environment

Cons

Very fast paced

Doesn't care about its employees.

Company fires its hardest workers in the middle of a pandemic and increasing stress of staff to the point of mental and physical breadown. HR acts like management instead of the intermediary to help workers with management.

Poor management

Awesome job to have but its very unfortunate the way things are run. Their priorities are not aligned with their employees. They will run you into the ground and you will get no appreciation for the the work you put in. It is micro managed from a head office and a hr company that have no idea how things actually run day to day. Expect new policies almost daily that make no sense. And expect to be promoted if your really good at sucking up to the higher ups. The customers are amazing to work with so much fun once you leave the warehouse and dont have to deal with the drama that comes with the warehouse. Do not work here. If you want to be a courier work for someone else !!!

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Supportive work environment

As a smaller company they are going to have their struggles and bumps in the road, as every small business does, so it's important to expect those. However, this has single handedly been the most amazing and supportive work environment I have worked in. I can see how much the company cares and invests into those employees who put their efforts in to do a good job. There is uncapped opportunities for growth for those who communicate and work for it. A supportive HR department to those who reach out. A supportive management structure. A CEO who cares. I am lucky to have been employed here at such an exciting time.Everyone's experience will be different, however I thought I would share mine.

Pros

Supportive Team, Supportive Management, Growth opportunities, fair pay.

Cons

Quick Growth which means lots of rapid changes.

terrible place

this company is an absolute joke to work for. they promise full time but keep you at casual status forever. they expect you to work 60 hours a week come the busy season ie christmas with no days off to recuperate. management is very unreliable and immature such as inappropriate jokes towards employees. another word would be incompetent. the ceo and head office doesn’t care for any sort of personal matter or issue that’s bothering you. terrible place to work, don’t work here if you wanna be happy.

Pros

good co-workers excluding managers

Cons

long hours, cheap pay, no appreciation

Stay away!!

This “company” is by far the worst employer I have ever worked for. Starting from day one you will be left feeling deceived and frustrated. They keep employees at ‘casual’ status expecting one to be available for 10-60 hours per week with no notice or consistency. The laughable CEO pushes a “family first” mentality.. but how is one supposed to support a family on 10 hours per week? The level of unorganized chaos, lack of authority by site managers due to micro management of the so called CEO is also very frustrating. Management is a continuous rotating door, much like most positions for various reasons. Avoid working here and save yourself the waste of time and inherent frustration for being underappreciated.

Pros

Zero

Cons

Management, Pay, Work life balance

Amazing workplace

Lots of wonderful and fun people to work with and brighten up your day. Management and team are amazing, supportive and encouraging. Some days are more challenging than otheres like with any job, but overall the job is fulfilling and fun and the pay is good. 10/10 would recommend working for this company

Pros

Pay, hours, support, culture

Cons

Nothing

Very Unorganized

This company sounds fantastic at first. The interview process and the initial impression of the company is one that you think you have been looking for your whole life. Once you begin your employment, you will start to see the false promises and how nothing can be approved by the local manager without the CEOs approval. Everybody from Office staff to sorters to drivers are all hired as casual. That could be anywhere from 10 to 60 hours a week and they expect you to be available for that. How does one plan a lifestyle or to pay bills with a casual status and no guarantee of hours? Employees will be kept casual status even after working full-time for over a year. Makes it tough to show the bank that you are ready to buy a house when you are just a casual employee. HR drops the ball ALOT. During an interview for a casual employee they will tell you that you will get 40 hours a week and then receive around 20 hours a week. There are much better companies to work for out there.

Cons

No work/life balance, poor pay, underappreciated

Don't bother

Management will tell you that you are valued and your like a family, but in the end they will tear you down and treat you like dirt and make you feel like you don't belong. The company is micro-managed and the managers can't get nothing done without CEOs approval. The company lies about everything and promises are always broken. You are expected to lose your social life and be expected to work and only work for the company beckoning call

Pros

Getting a good tan during the summer

Cons

Long hours, hostile bosses and work environment, poor pay, very understaffed

Managment? Hahahahaha!!

Don't waste your time trying to work for this company. In the begining they will promise you a sundae, then will defecate in your hands. Everything is micro managed through the owner of the company leaving ALL the managers saying, I dont know I'll have to get to you on that, then they don't. Ask a week later and the managers are still waiting on an answer from the owner. Owner is a horrible human being that takes advantage of everyone he comes in contact with!

Pros

New vans to drive and amazing customers

Cons

Owners ego is larger than the companies service area and his word means NOTHING!!

Pros

Easy job

Cons

Terrible Management and Leadership

Employer delivers everything but their promises

Drivers are always worried about what comes next . Promises are given to warehouse workers that their job performance will lead to promotion within the company. The local manager has no autonomy and simple decisions had to be cleared by remote leadershipevery

Pros

Wage average

Cons

Poor management, endless broken promises

I’d definitely recommend this company for employment

Amazing!!!

LOVE working for this company, management actually cares about you as a person and they work with you to achieve work/life balance. The vans are well maintained and if there are any issues they are dealt with in a very timely manner. The employees are amazing to work with. Over all I am very happy working for and with Alopex and will continue to grow with the company :)

Work Anywhere Else But Here

Poor Management

Starting from the top down, the company fails to consistently follow through with plans and commitments. Upper management uses a bully-like style to attempt to force employees into operating their company vehicles illegally. If you do not do what they ask, legal or not, you will be replaced. Major favouritism is a huge source of contention in the workplace - upper management will pick and choose who is given more hours and who receives overtime, regardless of operational needs. The hardest part of the job is dealing with the nepotism throughout the entire company, dealing with a lack of respect to safety, and being treated poorly. The company over hires employees, and then expects them to wait around for hours becoming frustrated and upset when employees voice their concerns in regards to a lack of agreed upon hours.
