Have worked her for a few years. Enjoyable work environment - good workplace culture. Find Upper Management Team positive, all work hard and involved with all aspects of the company and its business. At times can be stressful but part of the position. Would recommend working for this company.
Great Management Team
Very much a chaotic environment where nepotism and favoritism is rampant. There is the “in” group and the “out” group. You’ll know very quick where you stand. If you are a looking for a place where you can make a difference and be appreciated for your hard work and effort, this is not the place for you. Revolving door of junior staff and an un-fireable horde of incompetent senior managers and supervisors. Terrible job security. You will not move up here unless you’re family and have some sort of “legacy” connection to someone in the company with “clout”. Relatives and friends of upper management do rather well though.
Low level coworkers are easy to get along with because of the common oppression
Looking over your shoulder because you can be fired any time without cause or notice
No one seemed happy. Lack of 360 support for each other. Always looking over your holder. No support. Management worried about Houston's perception of things rather than doing what is right. High Turnover Nepotism, which creates the High Turnover and lack of trust Lack of Trust- Previous employers allowed for idea generation. This place promotes the idea that others ideas are stupid unless they are their own.
Pay was good
They care about the people who come in and do their job and the entire management is easily accessible. There is no micro managing and keeping as many people employed as possible to amazing.
Relaxed work environemnt
Some legacy issues
Company is largely family members or friends of family. If you are not in the circle you will not get a promotion or have security. Executives struggle with communication and cohesive leadership. Operates in fragmented groups rather than one company. Benefits and pay are good, but they don't believe in raises or reviews. Those that are well connected will get promotions that weren't even posted positions. No room for growth of an administrator. Some good managers but not enough to counteract the nepotism and favouritism between family and friends.
My experience so far is this is a growing and progressive company open to new ideas. The workplace culture is very much focused on improving the status quo. Strong focus on safety and quality. I'm happy I made the switch.
Great benefits; teamwork

Is Indeed your favorite place to learn about companies?
It's a young company that's growing and growing fast. There aren't a lot of established processes because everything changes so fast so you gotta be sharp and able to think on your feet. If you can do that, you'll shine and do well. Compensation is great, benefits are great, work hours are flexible... demands are high but that works for me.
No micromanaging, flexible work schedule, lots of projects to work on
Heavy work load and data entry
Horrible. It’s not what you are supposed to do in your role, it’s more about how the people you report to are feeling that day to decide if they’ll work with you or not. Huge ego with not much expert knowledge. There is no guideline nor system to adapt; it is the biggest joke in the industry. They are poorly educated and had no clue but tried to walk all over you. Most of the people with titles such as Manager, Director and VP titles don’t come from such background; they are not experts in the role they are put in. They end up bringing someone in with background and knowledge but the new guys don’t survive long either. They seem to get sponged their knowledge and are removed when they don’t “suck up”. When you’re in a meeting room privately with managers they’ll either gossip about other people or talk badly about things. If you don’t agree with them or act so, they’ll cut you out. The management don't have any capacity to coach or educate their people it's about ego and talking bad.
I would definitely not recommend- This small company is run by family and friends of family (yes, huge nepotism! no matter how experienced/professional you are; if you're not in the circle, you're out!). If you are not related to the executive management in some way, don't expect to last very long in the organization - they'll suck all your knowledge and will get rid of you/replaced by one of their relatives or a close friend of the family.
Pay is good here and work load is OK. When times got tougher for the company management had a difficult time figuring out fair margins to win work in the tougher economy. Ultimately you get promoted and have job security if you are related to someone high up or are a friend from their past. There are good people in the company for sure and I do miss working with those people.
Good Pay/Benefit Package
Management are the smartest in the industry. Just ask them....
Very progressive company to work for, industry leaders. Flexible work life balance, great wages, benefits and RRSP contributions. Extra health & wellness benefit. Lots of exciting work happening right now. Work environment is fast paced. Awesome teams supporting each other from the field to office and great software programs being used to gain efficiencies. This is a Powerline contractor with many opportunities for diverse work experience no matter what your role is. If you are a go getter and willing to dive in to something new and learn as you go, the work can be as exciting as you choose to make it.
Productive work environment. Very busy office for the payroll department. Monday to Thursday is extremely busy preparing and payroll. Monday to Thursday was busy period. All the time sheets had to be printed and checked for accuracy. Then the time sheets are put into order by the last name. The worked hours are entered into the in house system. The payroll is completed and then once again given to check the entries. Once the entries are correct. Then the batches are scanned every single sheet by date. The scanned copies are thrown away but the scanned copies are kept into the date base by monthly basis
no free lunches were available
the hours were not long but the time was short to do the task
Overall, I would not recommend. Company is run by family and friends of family. If you are not related to the executive management in some way, don't expect to last very long in the organization - you will be replaced by one of their relatives or a close friend of the family.
Nepotism, job insecurity
