Hi im sales agent at Allstate, I do like the company I was recruited for a role that I didn't get, but i thought well the company seems great and I applied elsewhere and got lucky..so i think that says a lot, ALLSTATE is a great company. Recently lots of changes and we are trying to be more innovative and better to met modern changes. That alone can be stressful, but who said sales are easy. There are lots of resources and it's a great place to start a career in Insurance.
cake on b-day, so much learning resources
can be stressful, b2c can be tough not everyone understands insurance
I’ve worked for this company in customer service for 9 years and I enjoy the work environment. The company offers better than average salary and benefits. You don’t need to fight for an annual salary increase and other work conditions are excellent (vacations, sick time...). The workload can be heavy at times, but management is understanding and helpful.
Salary and benefits, positive environment
Heavy workload at times
Very stressful days, not enough time to work on the tasks, and the deadlines are unrealistic. Management does not care about your needs. People end up leaving because management always agree to do something about their work structure but they don't do anything to help the teams. As much as you want to help customers they make it very hard for you to provide the right service.
You will work over time and will not be paid for it, and the workload and deadlines are unrealistic/ very stressful job, not worth the money
Pretty good management, the management is really good and are always available as support systems to agents. Personally, just think there should be more support, not enough support for agents.
Taking inbound calls for Insurance quotes, Home and Auto. Reviewing customers existing policies to make sure they were adequately covered for risk. Prospecting outbound calls to give potential customers insurance quotes. Handling existing customer needs.

Its great to work at AllState Insurance company they offer a great work life balance. Their training is detailed and they make sure you are ready for the role you are in. hey do offer a work from home option for employees.
Change in benefits/retirement benefits results in long term employees (over 10 years) seeing a significant financial loss. These are the same employees who have contributed to the company's current financial success. Senior leadership has yet to address why their longest serving employees must bear this cost. But seeing the company's current financial success it's easy to figure out the answer - corporate greed.
Leadership team does not value long term dedicated employees, very poor levels of employee engagement, ineffective management, high employee turn over and unrealistic work demands producing stressful and unhappy work environment.
It was very difficult to build and maintain sales momentum due to tight underwriting guidelines and unwillingness to compete on price even for top-tier clients. With that said, agents in larger centers can perform very well. If you can sell 200% or more to your premium plan consistently, Allstate's commission structure can be very rewarding.
A typical day includes lots of phone calls, preparing quotes, and following up with Underwriting. And then follow up with Underwriting again. Customers WILL omit things, thinking they can get away with omissions. Hardest part of the job is working on a policy only to have underwriting kill it. Prospecting is horrendous, the general public perception of receiving a non-solicited phone call is not very good, so make every effort to make personal contact if you can.
