Management - invisible, ineffective, in bed with the union Workplace culture - zero growth opportunities, bad attitudes and bad behaviors. Hardest part of the job - Most enjoyable part of the job - going home

Not worth it
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Ontario - 13 November 2023
Would be a decent place to work if they paid fair market value for certain sites and if management was supportive and professional. I cared more about maintaining the companies integrity with their clients than management did.

Stressfull workplace
Administrative Professional (Former Employee) - Fort Saskatchewan, AB - 8 October 2023
The work is easy and there are not many tasks, but the behavior of the colleagues is unbearable and not friendly until you want to cry. They don't like answering your question or help you. They made a stressful workplace, and in my opinion it’s not a good place to work.

Good and flexible
Concierge (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 6 October 2023
I worked as a floater and that was the best thing. Very low restrictions and watch from management. Working as a floater was like working self employed. Nobody to report or supervise you. Worked for 2 year till now I don’t know who was my supervisor or manager. Just know the scheduler to pick up shifts. 10/10 if you want stress free job.

Jobs at Allied Universal
Cut your hours without notice: from 40h to 16h per week
Screening Officer (Current Employee) - Kelowna, BC - 4 October 2023
The job security is non existent as they will completely reduce your hours from full time to auxiliary without notice. Overall not a bad job but the management and job security must improve.

Opportunity to grow, poor management
Capacity Planner (Former Employee) - Richmond, BC - 13 September 2023
Lots of opportunity to move around in the organization and grow within. However, they do not provide the resources and support needed to be successful in your role. Low pay and poor management.

Business Development Manager (Current Employee) - Calgary, AB - 2 September 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Amazing people and team culture; across the organization, there is support. New hires are encouraged to ask and learn. Leadership is both credible and embraces change where needed What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Work is meant to be challenging, and the security industry has many competitors and barriers. But the collaboration and approach here at Allied Universal sets it apart. Again, amazing people What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Actions enable results, and success starts with trying and never giving up, together What is a typical day like for you at the company? Results based. Time spent engaging with team is important to drive collaboration.

Management Transitions Bad/ DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO MANAGE
Office Administrator (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 30 August 2023
I recently had the misfortune of working at AUS and I can confidently say that it was an experience I would not wish upon my worst enemy. The root cause of my misery? The utterly inept and clueless management seems to have been plucked from the bottom of the barrel. From the moment I stepped into the office, it was abundantly clear that the management had no idea what they were doing. Communication was a trainwreck, with contradictory instructions being handed down daily. It felt like the left hand had never met the right, and both were more interested in playing a sadistic game of office politics than helping their employees succeed. The lack of clear direction and leadership was palpable. It was as if the management had never heard of the concept of setting goals or providing any semblance of guidance. When I attempted to seek clarification or express my concerns, I was met with blank stares and shrugged shoulders – a true testament to their lack of understanding and ability to handle even the most basic of managerial tasks. Micromanagement was another delightful aspect of my time at AUS. Instead of empowering employees to do their best work, the management seemed intent on hovering over our shoulders like vultures waiting for the slightest misstep. This stifled creativity and innovation and created an atmosphere of constant fear and anxiety. The icing on the cake was their complete disregard for work-life balance. Late-night emails, weekend calls, and unrealistic deadlines were the norm. It was as if the management had no respect for their employees' personal lives, and -
Pros
NOTHING All about promises
Cons
False Promises with SALARY RAISE. Lack of Direction and Guidance, Poor Communication, Unrealistic Expectations, Lack of Recognition and Growth, Inconsistent Decision-Making

Good Work Place
Security Guard (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 17 August 2023
I feel that they treat employees fairly, give equal opportunity, and every process is quick including vacation pay. You also can choose your preferred work location, as vacancies arise.

Service Delivery Manager. (Former Employee) - Richmond, BC - 4 August 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Meeting new people, making new friends. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? If you question, or have any concerns about anything corporate related, you are pulled into meetings and politically correctly told to keep quiet What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Back stabbing. Broken promises, constant lies from upper management. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Frustration to find staff to run a checkpoint efficiently.

Opportunity to learn more!
TD Canada Trust Security (Current Employee) - Calgary, AB - 2 August 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Working hours though permanent part time, allows to balance personal life and work continuously with no leave required frequently! What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Online training! Link doesn't work effectively and time lapse on trying to get connected. No prior guidance or information through primary email. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Appreciate the multi cultural environment and to know about various emotional sensitivities in human interactions & how it has been dealt induce interest in observing and listening with open ears and physical presence. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Visual presence at scheduled hours at worksite to watch all customers and observe all occurrences - keenly watch angry situations and protect initially by talking in a polite manner to diffuse the anger or if uncontrollable, take notes on clues & hints on actual/real happenings to help further investigation. Main focus: Observe, protect & report on unsafe happenings!
