New office - Lots of room for growth personally and financially
Sale Associate (Current Employee) –  153 Bridgeland Avenue, Unit 122 February 2019
Sales is not for everyone. It is a challenging job but if you have just graduated, no experience and want to get a foot in the door, this is a very good option for you. Everyday you will go out with the team and your communication skills will improve a lot. You will also learn from the team leader about how the security industry works. The more knowledge you acquire, the better it is for you.
Honest Advice: if offered the position, try it out for few weeks to see whether you like it. Everyone's experience is different and you will only learn if you try it out.
I have been here for over a month now and everything seems fine so far. I got a few sales and am still learning.
Management can improve more by having clear communication with the reps about expectation, commitment and schedule.
Pros
new office with game center, good teammate, no office politic, no micromanagement, supportive team leader
Cons
evening hour, go home late, take 1-2 weeks to learn first before mastering the skills

Health Hazard, Poor work culture
Head Office Agent (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON6 November 2018
First, this place is a health hazard, it had not been maintained properly. Not only it is dirty, air circulation is also very poor inside the office. Heat/AC often malfunctions and had not been cleaned for many years. No hot water in any tap, bathrooms are dark and have no ventilations or windows at all.

The office is surrounded by many "spy camera" looking at worker's desk, workers are not allowed to interact with others or the owner will either call or come over to tell you to face back to your own desk.

The management also allow bullies and of course they are the biggest bullies themselves. Swearing words, yelling and verbal harassments are all over the place.

They would also hire every single person who comes in for an interview to be their "contract outside sales", which is 100% commission, no background check is required. These new recruits will be all travelling on a company vehicle to get drop off to do door-to-door sales and giving out the company flyer about home security system. If you are lucky enough to get a sales during the trip, you will get pay in about a week time after it is being installed.

The only benefit to work here is because it is very close to home, and working inside the office get stable salary and always get paid on time.
Pros
Close to home with bus stop at front door
Cons
Everything else

Great opportunity to learn about sales
Sales Representative (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON21 September 2018
Definitely the most fun working experience that I have been in. Not designed for everyone due to the nature of the role, you will be putting through tests for your interpersonal skills, ability to connect with people and good salesmanship.
When you really get comfortable and become sufficient with this job, you will be rewarded greatly with both experience and compensation.
Pros
Experience, Learning opportunity, Improve sales skills
Cons
Work outside of regular hours, Takes commitment to do well

You will LOSE money at this job!
Door to door sales (Former Employee) –  North York, ON5 September 2018
This job actually makes you LOSE money every day you work. If you make no money (almost always) but still pay transit fares twice and also stop for lunch and dinner, YOU ARE LOSING MONEY AND NEED TO FIND A NEW JOB.

$800-$1000 A WEEK IS UNREALISTIC. The vast majority of people quit once they realize how one person realistically can only get 0-1 sales per week, even if they keep working and gain experience. They also lie because I was told a $75 compensation if 3 presentations were given, but at training, I found out you make nothing for no sales. Training is also unpaid!

The work day doesn't go from 1-9. They want you there at 12, then you wait around 60-90 min for your team lead. You waste hours getting there and buying lunch (the place you do is often AT LEAST) an hour away. During these hours you can often find the other sales reps complain about also barely making any money from this job. You only really start hitting doors at around 5, and once 9 hits, you gotta make the 1+ hr drive back. Not only that, you waste time stopping and buying dinner, which again, you made no sales today, so you're losing more money. You realistically get back to the office at 11 -12ish and now have to commute back.

In all, just an awful experience.
Pros
None
Cons
Everything. Please don't work here. It's a waste of time and money.

Worst place to work at
Representative (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON3 September 2018
Management kept lying, they don't tell you everything and then when you ask questions they get defensive. Sketchy company, they aren't truthful to their employees nor their customers.

Lying to get by, really not an honest place to work for.
Pros
"Unlimited work since its door to door"
Cons
Lies, bad management, fake promises

Field Manager (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON20 March 2018
Working at AGS gives you the freedom to earn unlimited income. The 30 - 90 day excel management training is second to none.. Hands on field training. You will learn how to run a small business. And can eventually open up your own office any where in Canada.
Pros
Sponsored vacations... Trips to Cancun, Cabo, Bahamas.
Cons
Long hours. not for the small thinking hourly person.

Montreal branch manager (Current Employee) –  Montréal, QC20 March 2018
Currently I’m working for Alarm guard security for the past 2 years.
This place gave me the opportunity to make some serious money. It’s hard at the begining, I had to learn through trainings and in the field. Once I figured it out it comes naturally.
Management is awesome, always have clear expectations and clear instructions. Very supportive, doors are always open.
Pros
No salary cap
Cons
Paperwork

Great Overall Experience And Loving It A++++
Field Sales Manager (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON20 March 2018
This company really knows how to take someone with little to no experience and help train and educate the people that represent them.

Everyone has been super friendly so far and I honestly cannot complain. Management is very patient and cares about being there to help guide and find answers. Coming from sales background typically people don't like to work together to help one another out. Not with these guys and gals. They are there to make it fun and exciting every single day.
Pros
Training provided

Challenging work with great reward. If you dare to dream big and walk the talk, you will definitely be a good fit!
Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON22 November 2017
Before going for the interview, please do more research about the company and what they do to make sure you understand the position before coming in. If you apply for sale position, do not think that you are coming in for office based/management position AND vice versa.

The company is not a fraud like the previous comments. The people there works like others to earn their paycheque. If you dare to dream big and walk the talk, you will definitely be a good fit!
Pros
put in hard work and you will be very successful here, I have seen people staying with the company for 5-10 years
Cons
must be very self-discipline to push yourself forward and work harder

This is the place to learn valuable lesson
Sale Associate (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON17 October 2017
Exciting place to work for, especially if you want to build your confidence and communication skills
Go out, talk to a lot of new people every day, very challenging for an introvert like me, but I eventually get out of my comfort zone to master it. Can say proudly that I can talk to anyone now.
Great money if you work hard.
Pros
lots of room for growth, work harder, make more income, no limitation on a "capped salary"
Cons
may work in bad weather condition, but that is the time you make the most deals

Productive
Intern Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  Vancouver, BC22 May 2017
The day would begin by us being dropped in a locality where we are suppose to perfom door-to-door sales for the alarm guard. Communication skills were the most learned part as well as interacting with people boosted up my morale to talk to anyone and everyone. Management was good, helpful and always ready to help for all the issues. The hardest part was to work in all kinds of weather. The most enjoyable part comes after closing the deal and getting good commissions and a cheer up by the team leader and the appreciation helped boost up for the coming days.
Pros
commission based
Cons
work in all kinds of weather

Employer lies to get people into interview
Field manager position does not exhist (Former Employee) –  Lethbridge, AB10 May 2017
I applied for a field manager position with this company and wound up at Pinnacle Security an ADT Sub dealer. When I walked in there were (12) other people applying for the same position and everybody had the same look on their face when they tried stuffing all of us into a tiny back room for a presentation.

Long story short, there are no management positions, no salary as they state and if you don't make any sales it's minimum wage and no marked ADT vehicles in the parking lot either. No one is going to work for a company that uses lies to get people in for an interview.
Cons
Lies from the start

Good intentions with bad execution
Sales Manager (Current Employee) –  Ontario27 September 2016
AlarmGuard is a company that tries, and grows quickly; but in the end is currently having trouble supporting its growth.

They're building a skyscraper with no support beams.
This leads to management silence;
- Short conversations when long ones should be had
- Lack of support from the main company
- Long wait times for anwsers
- Customers being left "hanging"

Although the intentions of the company IS to grow, I feel it should be reinforced first.

In the end, however; I'd recommend taking a position at AlarmGuard. The learning experience is great, and commissions are too (so long as you're able to do the work)
Pros
The Money
Cons
Lack of a "life", and not enough structure.
