Aggreko is a great company to work for you want to work, work week can range from 50-100 hours a week, yes 100. Your phone will ring 20 hours a day and the emails will never stop. You will get little support from management and they love to transfer irate customers right to the techs phone on jobs that cost more than you will make in your life. Its hard to sympathize with ceos screaming about lost millions when you only make 20 something an hour. Money is there if you want to work with no overtime cap and great benefits. Need to have a few grand in the bank at all times for expenses , they will pay you back , eventually...... Canadian support is little with most of the company upper management being in the US side including all HR and payroll. They have little knowledge or care of local rules and regulations so don't be surprised when things fall on you and they point fingers at you as the "local company rep" During busy times you may go a month or more without a day off or seeing your family.

Terrible Management

Management treats you like garbage. Management sets unrealistic production goals then when confronted about it they blame employees. Company is cheap when it comes to paying its employees, yet blows money on non essential things.

Daily challenges not for the faint of heart

This is largely an emergency response business. The work cycle is 24 hours and is a lifestyle more than a job. That being said it is never boring and the challenges are daily. The low management rating is due to the high turnover in Sr management as it is always in a state of flux. The job culture is high as the field techs and sales people are all first rate so at a functional level this is a good company to work for.

Ok but has its challenges

Aggreko offers a fair wage, but monetary increases are difficult to obtain. There is a culture in the workforce that promotes excessive hours of service. Executive management is too far removed from the Canadian portion of the business and as such leaves large holes in procurement and workforce. Due to the parent companies worldwide stature, achieving positve change at the workplace as well as opportunities for lateral moves are challenges

Former Service Centre Coordinator

Technicians were great for the most part, local management allowed training to be facilitated. Management outside of the facility was and still remains inept, and unskilled. No Canadian representation in leadership. No Canadian HR, the HR/HSE departments are the most anti Canadian groups I have ever witnessed. They go out of the way to not follow Canadian regulations as they feel they do not require to follow them. The most enjoyable part of the job is not working there any longer. Worst 3.5 yrs ever

What can I say

Some good people work there. But like any large company as soon as the bottom line drops it is the workers that suffer. I do not like being asked to talk about a company I do not want to talk about.

High Stress

Company is run under a very lean model making it a high overtime job with poor work life balance for technicians. It is HQ in the USA and no HR representation or senior leadership representation located in Canada. Salary is low balled due to the high overtime off set. In 3.5 yrs, I had 2 weeks where I was not tied to my cell phone even when not on call and only because I was on an Island in the Caribbean.

Good group of guys

Great fellow employees to work next to, the management has a lot to learn they don't take care of employees they look out for number one only. Wages have a lot to be desired they pay the lowest in the industry and the benefits are the same basic ones every other company gives out.

Good Company ...Very bad management 2016

Worked in Oil Sands in Alberta as a Technician.. Aggreko Western Canada is truly struggling with Management issues... Promises made and not followed thru with ... Both Employees and Clients.. Customers are fed promises and then no action taken to follow thru with those promises and now they are losing Clients by the minute... Work environment used to be fun and now everyone in Alberta dreads going to work... Management has sucked the life and spirit from their staff .. Aggreko Western Canada needs a management House Cleaning get everything in writing...

Non trusting environment

Organizational health is weak with pressure from economy and competitors. Enjoyed the people I worked with but there was little respect for the company executives managing North America from the field sales and service groups within the company.
