The Unfortunate Truth about Adventec.
Quality Analyst (Former Employee) –  Dundas, ON4 November 2018
The first thing I have to say is that these fake positive comments are hilarious; they couldn’t be any further from the truth! Adventec is a bad company, a very bad company.. Let’s discuss the word “standard”, the managers and owner of Adventec would have you think they invented the word. There are no standards at Adventec, there are roving quality exceptions. Further to that, people at Adventec will tell you that this or that isn’t our standard. If you were to ask what the standard is, nobody could tell you! If there happens to be a coffee cup left in the cafeteria from the previous shift; you will be shouted at and blamed for why a non-standard item is in there, and how you were such a terrible employee to not notice it and to not clean it and how that isn’t our “standard”. QA “standards” also rotate. Do the Quality standards change? Yes, pretty much every day, unless an audit is approaching, then everything gets changed very quickly back to what they are documented as! Every day, you will hear of a great new and improved way to do things and yet nothing changes. “Loyal team”??? While everyone is looking for another job and screaming to get out of there! The fact that Adventec is multicultural does not mean that they are non-discriminatory. Some supervisors always pick on the same people constantly. Not to mention the merry-go-round of supervisors walking in and out of that company every month! Long hours are only made worse by the constant harassing and verbal abuse. Job titles don’t mean anything is true, everyone is a treated like a piece of garbage by power crazed managers,  more... everyone with no exception.
“Welcoming and friendly environment”?? I couldn’t think of a place worse than this for welcoming and friendly, maybe a prison sentence. “Interesting”? OK, from the perspective that you will NEVER see anything like it again!
There is certainly a very high turnover, so much so that even some employment agencies won’t deal with Adventec any further. HR personnel change pretty much every three months as well. There is a culture of doing the bare minimum on safety, as long as we get the numbers attitude which falls into play with the roving Quality “Standards” (I hate to use that word again but they did invent it after all). There is an incredible culture of blame; whether it be between departments or shifts, most people who make a mistake will point fingers, this includes all levels of management who pretty much set employees up for failure and then for their ultimate removal. The average life span of an Advantec employee is well under a year. If you enjoy discrimination, If you like to work long hours for very little pay, this is your place. If you like foul language and a culture of complete negativity, this is also your place. If you like a revolving employee turnover every month and if you enjoy an owner who takes great gratification by berating his employee’s, come and work at Adventec. There are no “long term benefits/investment returns”, there are no “Pros outweigh the cons” (only negatives). Don’t be fooled by the false positive comments or reviews. Many of the employees who work at Adventec spend most of their spare time trying to get out of the company and most who are smart, will not mention that experience on their resume. Training for what it’s worth is by someone who has worked there for 3 months and will be gone in another 3 months, then you will train the next victim, and so goes the training program at Adventec.
Adventec has always been a terrible company and will continue to do so. Don’t be fooled by empty promises of a career jump start, learning opportunity or career advancement, Adventec is not a good place to learn either career wise or technically. What most people take away from this company is how not to do things. This will be the worst place you will ever work and if you make the mistake of joining, start looking. Ask anyone who has worked there and you will forever be grateful. Adventec is not a job or a career, it is nothing more than a punishment.

My first week there I realized I made a big mistake taking a job there
Production Associate (Former Employee) –  Dundas, ON5 March 2018
Wow is alI can say. Extremely unprofessional, training is not accurate and standards constantly change. Pay was 25 cents above minimum, but yet they squeezed 12 hr shifts out of me and only allowed for 1 30 min lunch (7 hrs after u started was the norm!) and 2 15 min breaks for the entire 12 hour shift. Pathetic. Run you will regret working there. I'm not even going to put this experience on my resume. I just want to forget about this place.
Pros
Some people were nice
Cons
slave to the job, low pay, different standards depending on who u talk to, sink or swim attitude from the management with very little guidance and incompetent training.

Pros Outweigh the Cons
Office Assistant (Former Employee) –  Dundas, ON4 May 2017
From my experience I would say Adventec is a good, yet challenging work environment. It's not a job you will cruise through. It's not a job where you can put your feet up and expect your yearly pay rise. Those who strive for perfection and actively contribute through actions or suggestions are noticed and praised. Very results driven firm, which to an extent is understandable considering the market they are in. Job titles mean nothing in this company. If you're a manager, don't expect that you won't be getting your hands dirty. Don't expect to have a list of daily duties and be ticking them off each day - it seems everyone is somehow involved in everything (which can be good and bad), and your job tends to change and develop constantly.

Managers have high expectations, however I choose to look at this as a positive. They challenge you and in turn you develop and hone your skills.

The best part about Adventec is by far the people. The long hours are definitely eased by the people you work with. I truly find it hard to believe the comments of discrimination made previously. Adventec is one of the most diverse companies I have worked in. It is actually something Adventec prides itself in. Many people share their culture by bringing in traditional foods for coworkers to try and an annual potluck is held at the end of the year where we also celebrate different cultures.

I have worked at Adventec for a few years, and I will say it takes a special breed to be successful here. Super high expectations, but if you are up for a challenge and keen to grow in a very
more... technically advanced company, you will be successful in this company. I would say the pros far outweigh the cons.  less

Ethnic cultures being abused verbally daily by supervisors. No true procedures followed to insure safety of machine operators from injuries. Total chaos in regards to quality standers. Everyday the stander changes at to what is acceptable, in quality. If you are offered a position there, run the other way quick. Employees last only 6 months on average.

The employees are very warm and welcoming. They are beyond willing to help you learn anything you are curious about. The employers are easy to talk to and confront. The work keeps you on your feet but if you like to be kept busy this company is perfect for you. You need to be a hard worker and learn to keep up a steady pace through out the day but its well worth it.

Great Experience and Exposure to several areas of Manufacturing
Engineer (Current Employee) –  Dundas, ON15 March 2017
Adventec is a small company where employees work closely with Top and Middle Management which gives the employee the ability to interact with individuals of varying educational backgrounds and experience.
Due to the size of the company, your daily duties are not limited to what's written on your job description as each employee tends to wear several hats allowing you to increase your skillset and become more exposed to a wide range of capabilities.
The company is might only be considered small based on the number of employees, but the technology that the Production staff works with is highly advanced making Adventec comparable to any other supplier in the field.
Adventec is very results driven, and with hard work, honesty and loyalty, any employee will be happy here.
Pros
Flexibility, Great Experience, Great Co-workerss

High Turnover, Long Hours

Ridiculously high turnover; toxic owner and environment. Micro-managers who know nothing. Supervisors who are clueless. An extremely disorganized and unsafe work environment. Do not even think of applying to a position here. If you unfortunately end up working at Adventec, you will last maybe 3 months. Nothing but chaos and abuse. Poor pay; poor benefits and an owner who does nothing but yell and abuse employees..
Pros
Nothing.

Not a good place to work
mechanical engineering (Current Employee) –  dundas on28 July 2013
This company in the automotive industry is not a good place to work. management doesn't really care about their employees, their president only cares about plant equipment and is very disorganized, the company is not very stable and replace people very often. Most people are under pay. this is a place where you cant even take your lunches because people are all over you.

This company has a really bad reputation, they have the ministry there quite often and they always find a way to get away with things.
Pros
80% benefits after 3 months
Cons
very disorganized, poor management, dont care about employees.
