Project Manager (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 10 August 2023
Low salaries compared to market and no good benefits. Job security is poor, people get fired left and right. The only good thing is work from home, otherwise it’s not great

The most exploiting companh I’ve ever seen
Clerk (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 7 March 2023
It appears that the employer sought legal counsel to draft employment documents that serve their interests while exploiting workers. The documents are written to ensure that they can extract the maximum amount of labor from employees without breaking any laws. Additionally, they require a proof of Social Insurance Number (SIN) before hiring. There are numerous unfavorable conditions in the documents, including - arriving at least 10 minutes early for every assignment, - agreeing to work up to 70 hours a week and 13 hours a day, - paying for expenses related to qualification verification, - accepting any assignment given. - Employees are also prohibited from disclosing company information to third parties, and failure to comply could result in legal action. (Imagine you tell your friend you had a bad day at work. It’s not just normal confidential information, but ANY information) If you are employed by this company, be aware that any dispute could be challenging to defend since you are not directly employed by the company where you are assigned. The documents are also overly complex, making it easy to unintentionally break terms. Furthermore, the company does not offer benefits but requires employees to sign an exploitative agreement that could harm them if legal issues arise. Don’t sign any documents at this company as they seem suspicious and exploitative.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Up to 13 hours a day, 70 hours a week, ask for the proof of SIN before hiring, arriving at least 10 minutes early for each assignment (that 10 min is not paid), pay for expenses they spend on verifying your qualifications for work

Good place to work
PMO Analyst (Former Employee) - Mississauga, ON - 10 November 2022
Great place to start your career. Training is minimal but you can learn on the job. Lots of exposure to different projects can lead to quick advancement.

Good place to work
DZ Driver (Current Employee) - Mississauga, ON - 1 November 2022
The interview process was fairly simple, go in and fill out some forms and then complete an interview with one of the staffing coordinators. They were able to find me suitable employment within less than a week which was great. Hoping to be hired fulltime but in the meantime have had no issues with Advantage

Quite honestly the worst place to work in Canada
Secretary (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 17 August 2022
The management is incompetent and slow. The people that work for advantage understand how to screw over employees in all aspects of life. If you want a sick day. Sure you can take one and never get paid. Their policies are horrendous. You will have to fight for anything you get there. It’s a scam to work for these people. They make money off of you and don’t care at all about you. They will make you want to unalive yourself on a good day of interaction with them. You are better off being unemployed than working for this company. Run.

Collaborative team and professional environment
Staffing Coordinator (Former Employee) - Brampton, ON - 18 July 2022
As a former employee, I speak from experience in saying that Advantage is a great place to work! Although the branches are spread out across Canada, the work is collaborative with company meetings (virtual) to connect and share ideas/training sessions. The senior management team is always there to help when needed. Somedays can be busy which is overwhelming but with the proper time management and schedule, it's manageable.

Unfortunately they have big turn over in the Staffing Coordinator position
Staffing Coordinator (Former Employee) - Kingston, ON - 5 July 2022
A heavy workload for the Staffing Coordinator. Review all resumes, to see who is qualified for open positions. Print all resumes, call potential candidates, screening questions; then schedule into the office for registration. Scan all documents, add new employees, and input all information into Computer. Our initial Manager was fantastic, I loved her management style. Unfortunately, the manager left the company before we were fully trained. The hardest part of the job was the amount of daily workload. Many times I came into the office early and also worked late. As well the goals for the office to meet was unrealistic. I don't know how they think someone else can fill all orders with qualified candidates when no qualified candidates apply?
Pros
Only 2 employees working in office, we were hired together and thus learned together.
Cons
High expectations on Staffing Coordinator, to fill all open orders when no qualified canadines applied, even Companies had job ads and they were not being filled.

Official response from Advantage Group
13 July 2022Thank you for your comments, we appreciate your efforts in the role, and it is unfortunate you feel this way. We wish you all the very best in the future, and remind you that there was no need for you to come in early and stay later. Thank you.
One of the worst places I've ever worked.
Former Staffing Coordinator (Former Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 16 May 2022
This was one of the worst places I have ever worked. First of all, management LOVES to micro-manage - insisting you cc them on every single email you send. Secondly, there is an unwritten rule that you will work through your lunch break, which is only 30 minutes in a 9 hour work day. You are expected to be on call at all hours of the day/ night - there is NO work-life balance. For the amount of effort you're expected to put in, you receive very little pay and the benefit package was also terrible. If this is the type of job you'd like to build your career on, strongly consider working for another company.

Good place to work
Forklift Operator(Counter balance)/Order Picker (Former Employee) - Brampton, ON - 2 May 2022
Good place to work. Nothing special, just like any other agencies. Your schedule isn’t guaranteed since it’s an agency. But they’re really easy to deal with and they’re there for you when you need them.

Professional staff and efficient process
Office Assistant (Former Employee) - Burlington, ON - 26 April 2022
I worked with Alternative Human Resources which is part of the group. The staff were professional and the process was efficient. I was hired on before my 3 month probationary period because the company I work for wanted to hire me. There is some initial paperwork that needs to be filled out and an in person interview but overall seamless process. Thanks!
Pros
Efficient, Professional, Hired on quick

Quick turnaround, good work, fair pay
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) - Scarborough, ON - 18 April 2022
I worked with Advantage Personnel and am writing this review 2 months after I stopped working with them as I got hired by their client full-time. It was a quick turnaround time from the initial interview to starting work, and I ended up getting hired on before the typical probationary period. The work is good and the pay is fair and on par with other companies in the area. I would recommend Advantage to anyone who's looking for work. I had a great experience.
Pros
Got hired before 3 months full-time by client, fair pay

Awesome company
Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) - Halifax, NS - 12 April 2022
I've worked with Advantage Personnel for just over a year now at one of their clients. The onboarding process was seamless and although there is some paperwork to fill out in the beginning, it is not any more than any other employer. I'm just in the process of being transferred over as a full-time employee and am very thankful for Advantage!

Needed work, limited assignments
General Labourer (Current Employee) - Saint John, NB - 9 March 2022
They were able to provide limited work from time to time, lots of dry spells which was not beneficial for me. Lots of promises not fulfilled. My main placement location would like to hire me, but can’t as they don’t want to pay Advantage their recruitment fee. Would not recommend working for this agency.

Unprofessional and time consuming.
None yet (Former Employee) - Saint John, NB - 2 March 2022
Very unprofessional to work with. The Saint John office does not pay what they advertise. They take a lot of time to get back to you even after you have gone in and filled out piles of paperwork.

Sales are part of the job
Recruiter, Service Coordinator (Former Employee) - Scarborough, ON - 1 March 2022
Dealing with the public daily, cold calling businesses, Up sales, Recruit and interview on a daily basis, Always need to come up with ideas or slogans to lure people into signing at your location, Weekly payroll, Deliver cheques. Family owned business; it’s great if you can get someone hired full time with one of the employers on file. This is rare.

Awful
Drywall carrier (Former Employee) - St. John's, NL - 3 May 2021
your are essentially “thrown to the wolves”, you’re given no Information on what your job is. There are no breaks, with long hours of painful labor. No worth the pay in the slightest.
Pros
Hire quick
Cons
No training
